Yes and right now we have a more aging squad, players like pienaar, gibson, hibbert are hardly available, we have kone who can't stay fit, thats one proper back up striker who you cant rely on.

We havent improved we've covered cracks. That is NOT improving.

I don't think you can look at it that way. The addition of Cleverley and Deulofeu add more talent to the squad than the players they replaced in Distin and Alcaraz. We definitely have brought in better players than those we lost albeit they play in different positions.

That said we still do need to strengthen. We need a mixture , a solid centrehalf that need not be an automatic starter, as well as the creative midfielder that is a first eleven player. I don't think we can afford to add large numbers to the squad we would end up bringing in second rate players and they might well block the progress of young players coming through from the academy.

maybe not in name, but a lot of our younger players are two years older and have more experience and are thus better. we're looking at key players like stones, mccarthy, barkley, delafeou and lukaku in this.

You can look at it that way because thats what it is *so far* we've just papered over cracks.

I'll let you know at the end of the window.

For me we still need (AFTER a center half and a playmaker)

:

A goalkeeper to get rid of Howard, and to challenge Joel


A right back to cover coleman, think tyias is more of a center half who can play there and needs to go out on loan

we definitely need a striker to be a back up to Romelu.


All those and we'll be stronger, until then, nah.

Yeah because anyone suggesting we haven't really improved is knee jerking somehow.

So 5 more players in your opinion. Lets just say we had 35million to spend on players (which we don't) - an average 7million player gets you very little for your money these days, and by my understanding you are wanting quality and quantity, which isn't going to happen. Come 31 August if we get 5more of a high standard I will doth my cap !!

Cos they was found out teams pressed us and we couldn't handle it an the use of over aged players who are past it,we need to mix it up with new quality players to be stronger otherwise it's as you were reguarding last season.

We do need a striker. Hibbert didn't miss a game last season when we needed him. Even if Pieanaar or Gibson are injured there's plenty of cover there assuming we get Lennon.

While we have an aging squad they will do for another year and the positive is our younger players are a year more experienced.
 
there's no chance we are stronger yet, we need at least a CB and a creative midfielder to be seen as stronger, add to that a RB to cover for coleman, even if its kenny coming through if he is ready, a back up striker as Kone is useless from what we've seen, long will go back out on loan, we need another winger to push mcgeady out or to replace a crocked pienaar, LB and CM we are fine and i would like a new keeper but its not gonna happen with howard still here
