Granted, but just get the sense that we'll leave it late now. And yes, I know we've brought two in (good additions I'd say) but my concern (mainly) is a new centre half as we've released two. Would like someone who can dominate in the air to complement Stones (and/or Jags).

We'll get one. While there's always a chance it costs us a few points this season, it's far better to have the right CB at the right price for 148 matches than the wrong CB at the wrong price for 152.

Can we stop with the OTT doom and gloom? We have the same players as we had going into last season where we were going to be world beaters, plus, for less than 5M we have added Cleverly (borderline International) and Delefeu (Barca starlet) plus signed a highly rated dutch prospect. We have not sold anyone, but released 2 players who hardly contributed last season at all. The window is still open...

One year deal for the 35 year old, happy to be cover and play the league cup games. His injury record is impeccable, other than that he is meh.

Confident we'll get two players in. CB and an Attacking mid. Not sure on sales, think we may still see Kev leave, but think that would be it - and I'd much rather we keep him.

Don't think there's any real rush. I think Barry is more than capable of filling in at CB in the vent of an injury to Jags or Stones, which means we can take our time on that front.

The No.10 one will be the one that goes to the wire, I think, but I reckon we'll get one in.

I am very much in favour of Everton's cautious/prudent approach to transfer windows and investment in general. Something tells me a global financial maelstrom, (which will make the crisis of 2008/09 look like a walk in the park) is brewing and will hit some time in the next 2-3 years. I genuinely believe the sky monies of the next 4 years should be managed with an eye to lean pickings beyond that time horizon as I think TV monies will be greatly reduced thereafter. Make no mistake, many sugar daddy-less clubs who do not 'harvest and store' in these bountiful times (financially) will go to the wall if they continue to over-invest. In the absence of player sales, I advocate no more than 60% spend of the yearly (non-cash) amortisation/depreciation item , plus 100% of the EBIT in year 1 (ie this window) tapering down to 25% over subsequent years to 2019/20 (when the current TV money contracts expire).
And moving to a new stadium?...it ain't going to happen. Some redevelopment of GP is the way to go (in my humble opinion). A deflationary storm is on its way, a storm that will destroy malinvestment and over investment alike, and God knows, there is too much inflated investment hubris in the football (and sports in general) 'theatre' at present. It won't last. Bubbles always burst.
So, in summary, I for one am pleased that Everton Football Club is not madly bidding up the value of every Tom, [Poor language removed] and Harry footballer. Prudent selection of targets and pricing of them is the way to go, and it is what we are doing.
Of course, my prognosis does not make for a very eventful 'Transfer Thread'...but such is life

I honestly can't see him leaving in the foreseeable future. Feels like we've been on the same roundabout every summer for the past 10 years.

I suppose that would be better than nothing. Just rather get it done in time for start of season etc. Like I said, its nothing new to us.
