Do you have to be so crass?

Can we please get back on topic as well?

Come on now.

Despite all the hurrah over the Evans and today Stones, nothing has actually happened. Not a thing.

Massive England collapse in the Cricket. I'm still bemused at Delph saga too. Imain the fume in here if that happened!!

The player you described is not the player I have seen in any of the games he has played, 350 inch TV or no 350 inch TV. I wouldn´t mind if it was just a differing opinion but it was way off. Like I said originally, it was like you just made up stuff. I don´t care what googling you have done to get this stuff or where you think he might be able to play in the future or how he might play for us, you simply did not see thaty type of player in any of his first team outings for Barça because he has shown none of it. That was the point.

Last reply to this fantasy land stuff. sorry for the off topic
Yes.

@FCBarça care to chime in with @Adversus ?

That way we feel alright burning the servers and walking naked into the woods.

Throw in Zat Man and we have the triangle of doom.

@FCBarça uses his power of glory hunting

@Adversus uses his super power of spouting nonsense

Zat Man his in depth knowledge of young footballers.

They are the villains this forum deserve.

I know that...just saying that it is possible that after an 11th place finish Roberto might have lost a little trust in terms of spending big money on one player.

Pure speculation of course...
I don't see why. I'm sure Lukaku's valuation hasn't gone down. If anything the valuations of strikers is going up. When we were thinking of Lukaku the figures mentioned for the likes of Bony and Benteke were around the 20m mark, now they're 30m+.

Unless the board aren't sure with Martinez in general and therefore don't want him to spend all the money on "his" team, a team that a new manager might not rate. But I don't see either being the case.

I think we either just missed out on our targets or we're waiting on them to come available. Nothing to worry about since Deulofeu and Cleverly has significantly strengthened us already.

The villains are you guys who want to impose your opinions on everyone else. Is there really any reason for the personal attacks and bullying tactics that you engage in? It just clogs up the forum.

Lukaku I am very unsure about. I think he will ALWAYS be slightly unsure of himself as I am of him. I know he's young, but I think £28m was way too much for a club of our budget. While Barkley and Stones and even Besic have the potential to be world-class, sorry if I'm offending anyone, I doubt Lukaku has that in him. I would sell Lukaku and his arrogant agent may help us make a profit. I'll be gladly proved wrong, but his movement, passing and lack of two-footedness, lack of ability to score from outside the box, makes me very unsure of him. I am certain many Evertonians have similar thoughts in the back of their heads. If we go 4-4-2 and provide him with a real partner not just randomness, then maybe he will improve so much that I will eat my words gladly. Cleverley's pass to Lukaku towards the end of the match against Stoke is the skill I want Lukaku to display and I hope he gains 150% confidence in himself.

You might be right but his valuation has almost certainly gone up in this inflated market which was the point I was making.

Obviously I'm hoping you are wrong but his first touch in the pre-season games was back to being ropey as hell. It will undoubtedly improve but it's certainly not god given for him. He does have a lot of other attributes and I think if we can get him the service he will take full advantage of it.

been out all day with laser eye surgery - just seen martinez' comment on evans - brilliant. how many pages of fume did that thread create yesterday/ let this be a lesson lads - calm down ffs!

worried about chelsea's genuine interest in stones. reckon he'll still be here for this season but next summer chelsea will up it.

I can't think of a player who has shown his potential at a young age who actually improves. Surely the talent you have when you're fit and young is that and the end of that. Maradona, Pele, Owen, Fowler, Shearer, the list goes on. You might gain experience, cheekiness, knowhow in how to win free-kicks etc, Martinez seems to hope he can last 90 minutes and all that, but first-touch and passing, and all that, is just natural and DOES NOT improve. It gets worse if anything. The clichés of you peak when you're 27 are just clichés and not true. I would gladly take £30 or £35m for Lukaku and just move on to the likes of McAleny and other bargain signings we can find from lower leagues or abroad. Lukaku only looks confident when within 8 yards of the goal and when he's on his left-foot. I don't think he's ever scored a goal from outside the box and you cannot say that about any world-class attacker that I know of.
