Really hope we don't sign Jonny Evans, I mean alright he's a decent defender but he's the type that just rubs me the wrong way. He goes flying in to challenges and then feigns injury in some kind of reverse hard man act.

''Don't send me off ref I'm a bit of a fanny''

That and he tends to be all over the place the moment somebody has a run at him.

I can't think of a player who has shown his potential at a young age who actually improves. Surely the talent you have when you're fit and young is that and the end of that. Maradona, Pele, Owen, Fowler, Shearer, the list goes on. You might gain experience, cheekiness, knowhow in how to win free-kicks etc, Martinez seems to hope he can last 90 minutes and all that, but first-touch and passing, and all that, is just natural and DOES NOT improve. It gets worse if anything. The clichés of you peak when you're 27 are just clichés and not true. I would gladly take £30 or £35m for Lukaku and just move on to the likes of McAleny and other bargain signings we can find from lower leagues or abroad. Lukaku only looks confident when within 8 yards of the goal and when he's on his left-foot. I don't think he's ever scored a goal from outside the box and you cannot say that about any world-class attacker that I know of.

How about Messi and Ronaldo?

How about Messi and Ronaldo?

They were already world-class. That's why Man Utd's players begged SAF to sign Ronaldo after a friendy, and that's why Messi plays for Barcelona. It doesn't take a football fan genius to see their ability when they're 16/17/18, ala Barkley, at a young age, like Rooney too who scored a 35-yard free-kick half-volley against Tottenham when he was 15, Lukaku has done nothing like that. Mourinho was happy to get rid of him.....he didn't even sign him....he signs skilful players like Willian. That's my point. Not looking for a fight, and I hope Lukaku becomes a monster, but I can't just see it happening.

This Jonny Evans stuff is just strange. It wasn't as if it was just the Mirror making up more bollards last night, it was just about every tabloid and broadsheet across the board reporting that a deal was almost done.

Even the credible ones like the Guardian and Independent were running with it. Seems very strange for there to be nothing in it at all as they were all getting their info from somewhere.

We have a good squad and if we're going to improve, we have to improve the first 11. That means signing world-class players, or those that have the potential to be world-class. What did A Madrid sign Aguero for? £16m. We spent £28m on Lukaku who is not world-class and never will be. The only way we will improve us enough to get into the top 4 is to reach those players before anyone signs them. Ronaldo only cost Man Utd £12m, Aguero cost A Madrid £16m. We spent £15m on Fellaini! As ridiculous as it may sound, we need to find these players before anyone else does. Pienaars, McGeadys and Mirallas' need to be replaced into a first 11 that has at least 2/3 world-class players that push us into the top 3/4 and then and only then will things change.

Could be any number of reasons mate.

On the face of it it feels the most inevitable transfer of all time.

You don't know that.

You don't know that.

I do though. Because I have eyes and a brain. It will be a huge favour to Everton is he is offloaded. He's never going to be as prolific as Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, or have the football brain of Eric Cantona, or Teddy Sheringham even, and if you think he will, you are, sorry mate deluding yourself. He cannot even pass as well as C McAleny and I'd rather he was up front with a partner than £28m of waste who can't even trap a ball and remember he came from the Belgian League, not even the championship.

Jose Mourinho did not sign him, look how scared he was of taking the penalty in the Euro Champs League final, and take it from there. He is no Zlatan and never will be, but hopefully the reputation his agent is forging for him saves THE CLUB that WE support some money.

Haha...love that you are trying to state your opinion as fact.

The only irrefutable fact is that you don't know.

Did you really say you would sell rom and play mcaleny instead wow

What about someone like Bale? Granted he started playing for Southampton at a young age but he wasn't regarded as world class necessarily.
