Ospina is not very tall for a goalkeeper at just six foot. Howard is three inches taller than him and Joel at least four.
Most of the better keepers now are very tall which helps them dominate the area.
He may be a good keeper, but I think he is too small.

southall was only about 5' 7" mate and a keeper such as shilton was just a shade over 5' , true

.....Ospina is an interesting one. Howard clearly has some personal problems and we don't know what is happening in that space. If the Ospina link is true I wonder if he's seen as an immediate or longer term replacement.
Someone said earlier that he isn't too happy not being first choice at the Arse, which if true, answers your question mate

casillas is only about 6ft and he was in top 2 keepers in the world at one stage. complete shyte now mind you.

did last window...
We didn't. Martinez refused to spend the Fellaini money that January because he wanted to save it for the summer to buy Lukaku.

McCarthy was paid for by the sales of Jelavic and Anichebe, the Lukaku money was all but financed by the Fellaini sale so in reality we didn't have as big a net spend as it looked.

Without a Fellaini type sale this time, people still think we'll go out and spend 20-30 million net?

It's never going to happen and if people are expecting that then they're going to end up disappointed.

Only time will tell I guess but I just don't see us having anywhere near that amount to spend
I'd say he'll spend somewhere around another £20M (£8Mish on a CD and £12Mish on an number 10). If he goes off piste and gets a keeper (£5M) I think that will be a bit extra that Bill will magically find, or he'll be on loan so it will cost a few Million less and mainly come out of the wage budget not the transfer budget (or be covered by losing McGeady)

Yeah spot on I think the rumour mill gets people excited but in reality we are everton and not Chelsea.
I would rather bring in some loanees than sell one of our stars.

So if we're not spending a penny of the increased sky money, where is it going and why can every other club afford to use it?

I would be surprised if he didn't have about £20m left to spend.

I hope you are right but I still think the number 10 will be a loanee unless we sell a star player.

We shall see.
The only outgoing that I can see would be Kev, but that's surprisingly quiet for a player who supposedly unhappy and wants out. It's almost as if there is no problem there anymore.

I have no idea that's a question for the board.

I don't think, in fact I'm convinced we don't have anywhere near 20 million left to spend without a sale.

Time will tell if I'm wrong.

I think kev could stay now but I worry about us losing jimmy mac or stones

Just hurry up and get the squad 'integrated and gelled' before 8th August, which is a exactly a month today. Leave the rest of the window to tie up a loan or two, if needed.
