I sincerely hope so. We have some dead wood (Kone, McGeady) and some players who are on their last legs (Pienaar, Barry, Gibson). That's somewhere in the region of £150k to £240k a week on wages, some of which could be better spent elsewhere.

I don't get Everton. We're so tight with money - can't spend too much, can't resist selling when the price is right - and yet at the same time we keep giving dead wood new contracts and can never bring ourselves to sell or release older players that are just a waste of wages.
