Not arguing with that for a second. Just saying the least-spent-in-the-league thing is a bit misleading. Even if it's worth it for @Moomin's metaphors.

But heres the thing

We arent investing in the team, AGAIN! Last summer was good for it, on a small scale but if we actually invested in the squad a little bit more each year then perhaps we would be up there challenging again. A free and a glorified loan deal is great for us considering the players but we need actual money spent for once because otherwise come christmas we could have osman, naismith, piennar, Gibson, Kone as our team rather than actually good players.

im not panicking personally, happy with cleverley and del coming in. Just would like us to announce some big deal for a new player who isnt a defender to get excited about lol

Cup ties only occur when the competition starts proper, therefore qualifying rounds have a refresh due to the transfer window being open still. If celtic were to play in the champions league proper before selling to southampton then he would be. But as it is only the qualifiers then the competition has not begun yet and so he can still be eligable for the tournament with a new club.

It'll happen when it happens. We have some money to spend so won't go without. Everton playing Watford in 10 days is excitement enough.

Winger predominately, but in fairness I reckon he could play anywhere across the top. 19 goals and 21 assists in all competitions last year for Dynamo Kiev including 2 assists and a goal against us.

Sounds good, we won't be signing him then.

That's true, their are teams in that list that have spent 24 million, but made 40 million in player sales (Aston Villa)
Im not saying we shouldn't spend money im just saying you can duke stats and figures to make yourself look good/bad
