I haven't heard the club coming out and saying we're interested in x,y,z,all I see is the media saying that we are/were interested.

The club never do that regardless, even with Deloufeu it was tigbt lips apart from the papers with the mail being the first to confirm the move.

The echo today have confirmed we have registered an interest in Wijnaldum- just after Newcastle agree a fee for the player, now I find it highly suspicious why we never registered an interest in the weeks prior when sunderland/newcastle were first after him.

Just because we haven't officially bid doesn't mean anything, i've already had 2 blues on FB post links to the papers saying they hope we sign him, to the average Joe blog registering an interest is no different to a bid which is what the club are imo want to try achieve.

There should be plenty of money available. We have yet another extra 30 million POUNDS to spend this summer from the current TV deal. There is then another extra 30 million pound to spend next summer, and then the increase in money goes well beyond 30 million pound a year when the new TV deal starts in 2017. Everton could easily obtain 30 million POUND and then spend it this summer, whether they want to or choose to is another matter.

You convert these figures into Euros and what have you got, an extra 80 million Euros that needs to be spent between now and the end of next summer, and then we will have probably double that once the new deal kicks in. The idea that money is in short supply at Everton is laughable. We have loads of extra money coming our way which needs to be spent.
Tell Boy's Pen Billy that.

They aren't legitimate reasons at all, imo. Pretending to save for a non-existent stadium plan that will never be built is ridiculous, and it would be done in favour of investing in the first team, which is clearly the most important thing. Wolves prioritised stadium construction over squad construction and ended up playing in League One as a result. The amount of money you lose when you finish lower down in the league also makes not investing in the first team extremely fool-hardy.

Refusing to engage in transfers because the market has got too expensive is not what you expect from a club that is claiming to be of Premier League standard. If Everton don't like the way the market has gone, even when they have been handed an extra 120 million euros to spend over three years, then perhaps they should try joining a different league, because the transfer market is only going to go one way in the Premier League and that is UP! Perhaps the Welsh Premier League is more suitable for Everton if they can't handle the market conditions of the Premier League?
I understand that argument but not building a new stadium is the main reason why we went from being one of the top teams in Europe to being a team fighting for Europa League places.

We have a very decent team right now who are mostly very young so we should be able to stay in and around where we are currently and if the new TV money allows us to build a new stadium then it will have more long term benefit than aiming to break into the Champions League now which looks very unlikely at the moment.

Off course I share your concern that the money will simply disappear.

It's like being on a really shitty chat show and a dull nugget in the audience keeps on piping up and trying to take over as host.

The best shout was from one poor soul saying we'd sell Rom for about 10 mil next season.
CRINGE

Didn't see that. So that's now Lukaku, McCarthy and Coleman I've seen people trying to make an argument for us selling in the past 3 days. Then there's the usual suspects that people want rid of.

Good job the gaffer doesn't take advice from GOT. We'd be starting next season with an entirely new team.
