Travel thread 3.0

We went to KL and Penang in 2013, really enjoyed both. Can remember a few people said we should have gone to Langkawi instead of Penang as it's nicer but no idea if true.
I went to the Perenthian (sp) islands on the northeast coast. Unbelievable. Would imagine it’s fairly developed now but it was wild 20 years ago. No Internet. Came back to the mainland to discover we’d signed Phil Neville.

Tiamen on the south east coast was nice as well, With a mad airport.

Saw the biggest rat I’ve ever seen in kota Baru. Had a tail like a massive lizard. Incredible. Freaked a German guy out,

Can remember having dinner in KL and we were playing City, they had it on the telly there. Osman scored that left foot reverse curl blooter and a table on the other side of the room erupted in cheers when it went in.

Everton and goals, the memories.

I'm going to Miami, Florida next week. Penn State (the College gridiron football team I'm a supporter of) plays Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl as part of the college football playoff. Win and it's off to the title game. I'm leaving Wednesday and won't come back to Saturday. I've never been to South Florida so i'm very excited just to lay by the beach and get out of this bitter winter here in Pittsburgh. Today it's 28 degrees, snow everywhere and the driving visibility is extremely poor.

Porto any good?
Porto is my favourite city break destination. Good food, I love port so visiting the port houses was a definite plus, and the place is surrounded by beaches. If you like to walk just cross over the River Douro to Gaia and follow the River towards the sea and turn left - miles of beaches with no hotels to to ruin them.

Kids booked us weekend away end of February yes Everton aren't at home. to Belfast is it any good bit nervous I'm a proddy she's a cogger jokes apart believe it's great is this true
I thought Belfast was a very friendly City when I went a few years a go.

We did all the normal tourist bits and I would recommend the taxi tour. Black cab round the city centre and the driver stopped at important points and we would jump out whilst he chatted and pointed things out. I must have looked rough from the night before though because he spent the entire time taking the mick. His knowledge of the history of the city was fantastic.

The pubs were rammed though in the afternoon because the 6 nations was on.

Mrs k and I been looking tonight for our holiday this year …. She loves oludeniz but I’ve been twice and she’s been 4 times so I don’t wanna go back just yet … we had to cancel Kos last September for reasons not worth going in to but I do fancy going there. She likes beaches etc but I like a bit of history and sightseeing… I reckon one of the Greek islands would suit us both but choosing where is the dilemma.

Cracking city mate. The murals up the Falls and Shankill roads are worth looking at. We did both on foot. In the city there loads of characterful pubs. Theatres and museums. The docks are worth a mooch too.

Kos is fine, plenty to see, and do, for a week - but I would not advise a fortnight as you would be going over the same things and ground. Basically not enough there for a fortnight. Could split your holiday and move to Turkey for the second week as the Bodrum peninsula is just across from Kos town. Or perhaps have a second week's holiday later in the season.🤷

Been to Kos a couple of times. Lovely island, Kos town has a lot of history, amphitheatre, ruins and Hippocrates tree. Couple of beaches either side of the harbour and boat trips to visit other islands, plus if Mrs is missing her Turkey fix, you can hop over to Bodrum for the day.
