The first 5 or 6 came from my dad. The ones since are mine.
Really enjoy these, even though I can only about half of them right!

Brilliant, all right. Only 3 left, 2 pre war.
It's amazing how many top top scottish footballers in england got barely any chances for the national team, given the craop that get capped now.
Dunc too barely got any caps. And if you go further back guys like Halliday and Turnbull were scoring 300 goals in the english top flight and never got capped at all.
Johnny Morrissey was one of the ones I'd heard of
The jock left (the other two are a manc and a cockney) is one of those players who isn't remembered as much as he should be. Like Sandy Young.
which war?
sandy young?

My Dad might say Alex Stevenson (one of his favourites) but I don't know if he qualifies as a cap or 50 goals - way before my time I'm afraid - obviously he played for a long time but the war intervened... and I don't know much pre-war stuff.
One of our all time greatest players, played from 1901 to 11. 2 caps for scotland, scored hundred of goals for us and the winner in the fa cup final and 4 goals in one match vs liverpool.
Then emigrated to australia, shot his brother and died in a mental asylum.
Is he the one who played in the 1890-91 championship winning side?
No the one who was top scorer in the league when we won it just before ww1, scoring a hattrick at anfield along the way, 55 in his first 65 games, and then was shot in the somme and never recovered.
