...when you say twice, are you counting aggregate scores in Euro matches, i.e. 2 matches is actually 4 games?

No, each leg is a different game.

So we only have played ac milan in one round, over two legs and didn't win eithrer.

We've played feyenoord more than twice, two legs in the 1980 uefa cup and two legs in the 1996 cup winners cup, without winning any of those 4 games. So they're the only team we've played more than twice without beating.

...cheers, good questions as usual.

...yes, I went to the game at Goodison and they had a decent side. I recall they had one of those blokes who was also a professional cricketer. Think his name was Chris Balderstone. Good player, also think he was an umpire.

You are being generous there. They were terrible and our defeats against them were up there with tranmere in the cup for me! We were two up at half time at Goodison and got beat 3-2battered 3-0 away when within touching distance of the league. I am barely out of therapy!!

...they were obviously out of their depth, but I thought they played some decent footy that season. I like Balderstone, thought he was decent. They were always going to go straight back down but they left a scar on us.

Just looked up their record. They got a couple of decent scalps apart from us and apparently it is the smallest town to have provided top flight team! I still shiver at those performances but it was our fault not theirs. Couldn't beat Luton away either who were also relegated. Sigh. Mid 80s were boss tho!!

Don't think parma ever did it, did they?

Sampdoria were the beaten finalist in the 1991-92 cup weren't they so since 92 they'll count? But they'e not played in it since.
No. They counted it from 1992-93 season, so Sampdoria don't count. Parma did it for the 1997-98 season. To be fair, I did fail to mention that. So I fail at the Internet. Sorry lids. EDIT - It would appear '92-'93 was the first year it was called 'Champions league'

AF hello?

I've got an absolutely terrible one that I just made up. Five former or current Premier League footballers were also in the TV series Lost. One was at Everton.
