Trivia Question

......most of the years quoted are well before even my time. Thought Yakubu might be one, but clearly not based on the hint you gave, so the remainders are all probably British. Couple of lads who I remember scoring for us and I think they were Welsh, Gerry Humphreys and David Smallman.
Smallman was a big disappointment but he scored a cracker in the Gwladys St end.

Sorry mate, not sure either was even capped.

There's one left who you'll have seen play, like. Scored 2 goals in two games for england in 1964. A brace against wales.

....of course, Frank Wignal. He's a go to for any Everton question of the 60's. Surprised that David Smallman didn't play for his country. He came to us as the next big thing. Lots of stories about him not being able to settle, which is odd when you think of the global transfers these days. I don't think he was up to it.

I was wrong about smallman, tbf. Scored 1 goal in 7 games for wales.

Spot on about Wignall.

Players with more than 0.5 international goals per international games. Dixie, Jeffers, Jo, Lineker, Settle, Young, Geary, Milward, Wignall, Pickering, David Johnson, Bakayoko and 9 more.

Of the 9 left, 8 are pre war, and one played for everton pre war but for england mostly after it.

I've got a couple more but I have looked this up before for another question so it's half-cheating.

Jack Southworth.
