Trivia Question

I think theirs been a total of 30 players who've played for both us and the rs, don't think it's been asked before but havn't trawled through every question, just wondered how fast people would take to get them all - without using the internet ofc

Should have noted that it has to be a direct swap between the two teams, maybe a further question could include those that played for both during their entire careers not as a direct transfer between the two
Dont know anymore thats been said, probably a lot early to mid 1900s. think im going to have to google it

Any chance of the rest of the answers to your quiz last night?

Was hoping someone would still get them.

Ex everton players to manage in the European Cup/Champions League. Harry Catterick, Joe Mercer, Stefan Rehn and Bruce Rioch were got.

I reckoned they were 8 more who managed Burnley, Fenerbahce, Leeds, Aston Villa, Íþróttabandalag Akraness, Motherwell, Glentoran and Linfield.

Noone? Probably a bit too hard then.

Stuart McCall at Motherwell and Ron Saunders at Aston Villa I thought were gettable. Alex Young was player manager at Glentoran. Jimmy Hill managed Linfield. Harry Potts did it at Burnley. Oscar Hold at Fenerbache, and Maurice Lindley was caretaker at leeds after clough left. The hardest one was George Kirby who managed in iceland.

Admittedly of those 8 only mccall and young had really memorable spells at the club.

Burnley? European Cup?

There's a trivia question in that answer alone.

Yeah, 5th English team to compete in it after winning the league in 1960. Lost to Hamburg in the quarters. Hard to imagine for people of our age, I think, but they apparantly had a decent little team back them, McIlroy and Connelly (who went onto to win the league under Busby at man u) leading the line. Potts did a really good job there, after a pretty forgettable playing career with us (mostly in the second flight)

We came 15th in 59-60, it was our last real low point before we revived as a club under carey and catterick. That summer we bought in collins, vernon and gabriel and promoted Labone to the first team.

Non-Everton.

Which country to never actually win the Champions League/European Cup has produced the most players who have played in a WINNING FINAL?

It has to be Spain. It has produced 126 winners, but Spain has never actually won the Champions League. (you didn't ask "Clubs from which country").
I claim a pedantic victory

I think we've had 9 players who have scored multiple goals in english cup finals (not always for us).

So either 2 or more in a single fa cup or league cup final or goals in multiple league cup or fa cup finals.

Who are those 9?
