Trophies or Stablity?

In the 80’s we finished , 19th, then 15th, 8th, 7th, 7th then Champions, 2nd, Champions, plus various cups. The Manager and some very astute buys did that, nothing to do with stability, then the Manager left, players left and we won nothing until 95. Again that was down to the Manager and players as our ‘stability’ hadn’t changed…..just get the right mix of Manager and players…….

Challenging for Europe really shouldn’t take that long to be honest. I’ll be disappointed if we’re not challenging for Europe next season. It might take a while before we expect Europe, but knocking around the bottom of the top half should be the least we expect if we actually get some investment in the squad.

I guess Moyes made the squad looking a bit better than it actually is, Dyche much worse, we are somewhere in the middle as of now.

We should get closer to top half surely next season and build up smartly with smart investment and in 3-4 seasons we should be in one league with Villa or Newcastle, not the Moshiri type of investment. It's really hard to predict, whether teams like Bmouth and Forest can confirm their season and Spurs and Man Utd will be as bad as this season for example. But we have our own homework to do.

I see Ndiaye and Branthwaite as the only 2 players that are really attractive for other clubs and very important here. Bmouth and Forest are likely to lose way more players. So there is the chance to keep a core.

However the challenge will be to integrate 10+ new players quickly to be ready Mid August, that won't be an easy task, but I trust in Moyes that he will find a way to do so.
