Every country has its proper tits of people, and you are probably right - yours does have a lot of nice and accepting ones, but as someone who lives, like, a 100km away from Turkey - you are also not very correct. I mean you turned out to be great, so has your family, guessing they taught you and things like that, but not everyone in Turkey is so peachey to other people and nationalities. As a Bulgarian I can tell you from first hand experience - some Turks even come here and treat us like slaves still, because of the Ottoman empire. When we're there it's an absolute balls of a treatment. Racist/slavish remarks all over the shop!

Not saying we're any different, to be fair I don't like Turks either, but there are a lot of sound ones which I have nothing against. The ones that come to our country and act like they still own it and treat us with zero respect do my head in and give your country a bad name around here.

Plus I'm kinda biased, as we were poorly and corruption-based ran by a Turkish party for quite some time, and there's still a lot of traces from that... FFS they even won by getting buses of Turkish people to Bulgaria just to vote illegally!

I just don't agree with this. I'm sorry you haven't interacted with folks that have a better head on their shoulders. But I have met a ton who have. There are some massive generalities being talked about in here, and it's not really the place on a footy forum. There's speaking your mind about football and there's speaking your mind about people.

It is not representative of the populace. Period.

I'm not saying it is notice the thread title Turkish Football. It's more a condemnation of the attitude certain Turkish football fans have towards the game. If Eboue was a white Turkish footballer it would not change my stance on this subject I'm not laying a sweeping statement condemning all Turks as racists, I'm just stating the fact that plastering the pitch with anything they can find has no place in today's game period.

The OP was just a video of fans acting in a disgusting manner, it has happened with fans of every other club, probably, at one point. The point that Nik was trying to make, I think, was rather that that behaviour has no place in modern football, rather than generalising the Turks. Later on in the thread it somehow turned into that, one way or another, or one misunderstanding or another, but never mind.

Again not very light on the Turkish people, but it's fair you used the whole quote, isn't it? In the context it's not very light either, but still it has something to build on, and there's a video. It's as if going through your posts and someone finding something offensive you said, which isn't so offensive with the context, but taking it out and putting it on display for you. I bet you could go through any England game thread and take out about 10 "the English are just the worst people ever" examples, not from you, but as a whole.

And please, go back to discussing the board and Kenwrong. It's your thing, not this.

He may have worded it wrong but I doubt he meant the people of Turkey are all bad, bad racists just from that throw away remark about a football clip on youtube.

If you want to start a witch hunt I'd start with Jock's comment about the racism being bred into them.

And I'll tell you you're wrong. The fundamental problem being, they are brought up to think that black people are a lower class than themselves. it's not just Turkey, it happens in England, in Scotland, in America, in China.... I could go on forever.

Problem is though, where do you hear of football fans racially abusing players? 99% of the time, Eastern Europe. That isn't to say that they are all like that. You've got lads on like Kay and Duality who are examples of Eastern European backgrounds who DON'T condone the behaviour, but unfortunately, when it comes to football crowds and mob mentality, racist chanting/missile throwing IS the common theme.

Sorry mate, I didn't mean it to sound like you're a racist and we should all just witch hunt you. It was just you were the first poster to bring up the race card. I'm officially done with this thread it's got to the point were we can't discuss anything without being hounded out as Gypsy haters, Racists or wipe while sitters.

I also don't disagree with what you've just said either.
