TV Series

Thanks for that

I think the only way to properly understand it, is to watch all 3 back to back !
Oh. My. god. I have watched episode 1/2 of season 3 and thought I understood what was going on for about 20% of the time. I thought I’d go and have a read about it all to try and get a better grasp of just what on Earth was going on. Big Mistake. I have now realised that what I thought I knew I didn’t know and that there’s about 3times more stuff I had no idea about than before I started reading. Bizarrely though despite my confusion level going up several notches my love for the show has also increased. This in itself is also confusing. I love Dark and wish my brain was big enough to hold on to all the relevant story lines/characters at the same time. Alas it is not. So I will have to carry on in a state if confusion bewilderment and awe. What I would say about dark is that if you can grasp 20% of it you will love it. Honestly a show I enjoy more than almost anything else. (apart from kingdom (the hats)).

Some of the best stuff I`ve watched recently has been foreign stuff.

I watched the French series - Black Spot, in tandem with the pathetic White Lines and the difference in quality between the two in every way was like night and day.
I’m on pure foreign language at the mo. In Human Resources was ok, bit light but worth it for a bit of cantona. Dark, obs but need my future self to come back and explain it to me. Kingdom obs. Fauda just got better and better. Narcos Mexico, the list goes on, as does the list of really poor English language stuff, glad you mentioned white lines something about that really got under my skin, formulaic ITV style waste of time.

The new David Simon/Ed Burns series, The Plot Against America, starts on Sky next week. It's based on the Philip Roth novel. If it is anywhere near the quality of the book it will be well worth watching. It's particularly relevant now with Trump in the White House.

Saw off series 3 of Fauda over the last two nights.
I posted previously about the somewhat repetitive nature of the plots but without doubt in the end it didn't diminish the powerful stories being told.
I thought the final scene of the last episode summed up beautifully the endless cycle of the politics of the region.
Excellent viewing.

Human resources an easy enough watch, Cantona making a decent fist of the main role.

It all becomes much clearer in the last episode and has to be one of the most " beautiful " and emotional endings of any tv series I`ve ever watched.

You need to watch the last one by yourself, as it requires full attention and you`ll be blubbing like a baby too !

The final scene was clever I thought, regarding who was sitting at the table.
