TV Series

Anyone dared to watch 'Ted Lasso' yet ? Comedy about a yank who comes over to manage in the premier league. I always found the 'ted lasso' character pretty cringe but it's averaging 8.6 on IMDB which is very good for a comedy.
Ive watched a few episodes. It’s a pretty easy watch and quite funny but it’s not amazing. Probably worth giving the first episode a go as you’ll quickly know if it’s something you’re going to enjoy or not.

Caught up with season 1 of the umbrella academy finally.

I didn't really get into it much. It felt like there is an expectation on the viewer to care about the characters and understand them when you have only just met them. Apart from 5, you don't really get a good insight into any of them really to know what makes them tick. Just felt distant as a show despite the actors being really good in their role (apart from Luther , boring as hell).

Hoping season 2 grasps that part of the show and makes me care for them a little more.

Been rewatching the sopranos from the beginning for the millionth time still the goat along with the wire, just coming up to the point where big Vito goes for a moustache ride on Johnny cakes. Also A.J. soprano is one of the most annoying characters ever, wish they had killed him off

best tv program ever.... started it again but also listening to https://talkingsopranos.simplecast.com/ podcast after each episode, podcast talks about every episode in detail.... well worth a listen!!

Been to the Keys a few times, might watch.
I feel it's one of those series like 'Revenge' that will go on and on, getting worse with each new series. Watched S1 and half of S2 before I gave up. Now watching 'Gangs of London' which is brilliantly violent. Strange seeing the actors who played Caitlin Stark and John Shelby as mother and son though.

@jaycee just finished series one of Bloodlines - a whopping 13 episodes !

I’ve revised my opinion of it, as it massively picks up from episode 8 onwards.

It’s proper quality, but I can see why some people don’t like it, as it’s proper character driven and as a result there can be big periods where nothing much seems to happen.

The writing and acting is proper quality though.

It’s maybe 3 episodes too long and apparently the next 2 series aren’t as good, but I’m giving them a whirl too ;)

I will eventually give it a watch, but I just watched the first 20 minutes of Liam Neeson in Darkman and had to remove my eyeballs and put them in bleach

Been looking at another one that sounds very promising - Undercover.

Belgium with subs, good reviews.

Ps cracking film on tonight on BBC4 at 10pm - Goldstone.

Aussie outback Detective noir, dark and brutal follow on from the classic Mystery Road.

Ill give that Goldstone a watch because Mystery road was very good, though I have been looking for a bit of light relief from the usual stuff I watch
