TV Series

Tried to watch Yellowstone recently after hearing people rave about it. Did absolutely nothing for me after a whole 1 episode so ended up in the never to be watched series.
I've been watching it recently and I have mixed feelings. On one hand Costner is playing an American Republican's Wet Dream, giving principled speeches about how family justifies him holding onto millions of dollars worth of real estate and lots of jingoistic type stuff about how in American we take what's ours blah blah blah.

The acting isn't terrible, but parts of the writing definitely are. It's written by the fella who does Sicario but I can only think he must have been laid up in bed because some of the twists are so Soap Opera that Corrie and Eastenders would be embarassed by them. The cinematography is wonderful though.

Oh, it also has probably the least convincing medical emergency scenes I have ever seen. At one point Costner drops like he has had a heart attack and some vet tech uses an x-ray machine to diagnose that he has an ulcer, then they open up without anesthesia (because the vet tech can't do the algebra to reduce the painkiller dose use for the bulls) and she uses a soldering iron to cauterize his ulcer, then he gets up and walks over to the helicopter. Absolutely hilarious to my wife who is a nurse.

I think i made the correct choice in abandoning it after 1 episode. lol

Definitely not for kids. Perhaps some parents judge it by its innocent sounding name? Its a show where people play playground games but die if they lose, sometimes quite graphically.
Thanks for the feedback. I definitely think that’s the case. If I had not read the reviews and had just go by the name I probably would have let my daughter watch it too.
