TV Series

Was watching Silicon Valley regularly up until the end of season 4 in 2017, when I sacked off my Sky subscription. For some reason I thought about it yesterday afternoon, and realised that they had done 2 more seasons.

Just watched seasons 5 and the final season 6, in the space of a couple of evenings.

What an absolutely amazing show that was. One of my favourites of all time. Casting, acting, storyline, the ending… all sublime.

Just started Squid Game (on Netflix). Good stuff so far.
I haven’t watched it, didn’t even know there was a hype about it  But my daughter came home this week asking me if she could watch it since some of her friends were doing so. But after reading the reviews on Common Sense Media my answer was a resounding No way. Some parents may be more laidback about what their kids watch but based on what I read it doesn’t seem it would be an appropriate show for an eleven year old. What’s your take my friend?

An 11 year old can’t watch this. Not for a long time

Anything with Jodie in is worth watching. She's a brilliant actress. Just rewatching Killing Eve now, half way through the second series.

I remember seeing this. She's very young in it.
Really like Jodie Comer. Great actress and also comes across as very likeable and down to earth.

If you haven't seen it, you should check out Thirteen on BBC iPlayer. She plays a woman struggling to get her life back on track after being held captive for 13 years. It's about 5 years old and she's brilliant in it.

No not seen that mate. I'll see if I can dig it out.

I started watching that Help with Steven Graham but found it a hard watch tbh even though it looked very good. Haven't got an appetite for those type of shows at the moment. I need something easy viewing. What's thirteen like in that regard?

Probably one of those light hearted captivation for 13 years comedies lol

If I remember rightly, as it was a few years ago I saw it, I'd say it's pretty downbeat, but not as grim as Help. It's more about post trauma than the ordeal itself.
