TV Series

I finished series 5 of Better Call Saul last night. A great series, and I really enjoyed getting to know Mike’s character in more depth, and of course Saul.

I think I still I prefer Breaking Bad. BCS is probably more complete but BB was darker and had me on the edge of my seat more. Although I think that’s partially down to already knowing the fate of some of the characters with it being a prequel.

I've just finished S4 of BCS.

Taken me absolutely ages to get to this point because it never really clicked with me until midway through S3 but it's got me on the hook now.

Yes BB is darker and more of a 'blockbuster' show but part of what I enjoy about BCS is that you already know the fate of the characters.

Anyone tried Landscapers?

I'm a sucker for a true(ish) story.

Acting is very very good.

Quite funny and poignant.
Seen the first 2 episodes. I'll continue watching but it isn't one that encourages me to binge watch. As you say, the acting is very good, but I find it hard to come to terms with the style of the series, which is quite mocking in nature given the gravity of the subject matter. The police characters are very keystone cops. The lead character could have been written for Olivia Coleman.

The White Princess and White Queen are quite good, I've got that Starzplay channel, some good stuff on it and is on offer for £1.99 per month for 6.
Anything with Jodie Comer in is well worth watching. But if you're into historic drama, and especially the War of the Roses and the rise of the Tudors, then both are excellent watches.

The older I get the more I am interested in history and it shames me, that British history is one of my weak points, I tend to love watching programmes about archaeology and finding old civs, it's fascinating.

Must admit its Colman and Thelwis that keep me watching Fred.

Are there any books you haven't read? lol

I'm surprised you find time for normal everyday things, like breathing.

LOL.

I reckon I read between 24 - 30 a year, depending on the volume of the book.

Most of the stuff I`ve been reading for the past few years, has been from recommendations on here.

For instance, I`d have never got into " American Noir " if it wasn`t for this thread.
