TV Series

Finished Vikings Valhalla, enjoyed it, Leif Ericsson, the real European who discovered the Americas in it. Also watching Miss Maisel which I absolutely love really funny show. Got Power Book 4 on the go as well and Ozark, going to start that Anna thing with her out of Ozarks in it. Lots to watch at the minute, still half way through Line of Duty with Peaky Blinders lined up.
Did you like Vikings? If so how did Valhalla compare? I loved Vikings so will give Valhalla a go but I'm a bit reluctant

The writing is on a similar level and so is the historical accuracy.

I found the first episode really weak but it grew on me as it went on and is a good period of history to focus on. The battle scenes were better than most of anything I saw in Vikings from a tactics point of view which I really enjoyed seeing.

Watching Normal People on IPlayer. Not normally my cup of tea but the on screen relationship between the 2 young unknown lead actors is excellent. I've watched 7 episodes over the last 2 nights which is unusual for me. Highly recommended if you've not already seen it, but probably a bit slow moving if action packed is your thing.

Thanks for that, I`ve never even heard of it ;)

Currently re watching all of Peaky Blinders, before watching series 6.

You appreciate it more the second time around, the clothes, the sets and how many of the not so well known supporting cast, really shone in it.
Never a truer set of words spoken.
I did exactly what you're doing and watched all of them again.
So much better second time around as this time you could appreciate the acting a bit more. Brilliant filming as well.

Struggled with peaky blinders after the first few seasons, I think I watched up to the third

The change of tack after the second series, with the political angles becoming more integral to the plot, makes it a bit " drier" to watch and imo, means you have to concentrate that bit more to keep track of the plot and I think this put a few off it.

See I would have thought that would have kept my interest more. It was the one where Tom hardy joined it

I have read that it is apparently the weakest season out of them all

Picard Season 2 kicked off on Amazon last night. Ok if you like Star Trek and it’s spin offs.
Patrick Steward hamming it right up the old luvvie.
Enjoyed it once they got away from his personal life / backstory / hackneyed character development and got into the getting the gang back together and adventures in space.

Irritates me how every bloody sci-fi or comic book character needs some deep exploration of what drives the character. I really don't see the need for boo-hooing about why Picard never settled down or a sub Hallmark movie romantic melodrama with the Romulan housekeeper. Chop it out and lose an episode if need be.

Possibly, as Tom Hardy‘s character, Alfie Solomons, is on a par with that of Cillian Murphy’s and unintentionally ( imo ) ends up stealing the show, in the episodes he’s in.

Tom Harry’s character is worthy of his own series ( imo )
