TV Series

I’m gonna drop my theory here before I start ep 3, see how far off I was:

So basically they’re being interviewed 10+ years later because a similar crime has occurred even though a guy is inside for the first one. I get half an impression they believe Rust is involved/did it and then half an impression it’s something bigger. My initial hunch is that the killer is either the tall smarmy reverend from ep1 or his cousin the state governor. I reckon the high profile nature of the murder, the pressure coming from this anti-God squad etc. is going to lead to a false arrest to publicly wrap it up and/or to take the heat off the reverend/governor as they’re worried Rust will figure it out. They keep saying “you’re making no progress” when he clearly is. I could be wayyyy off but that’s my observations from the first 2. Really enjoying it though.

I was almost right! Not sure if that's a predictable plot or there's a few things in my noggin' but I'll take it.

Thought 1899 was decent but certainly not on Darks level. I feel like some of the acting performances were a bit ropey although it can be hard to tell when they are speaking in a foreign language. Enjoyed the overall look, atmosphere and mood of it though and the sound design was absolutely outstanding.

I thought it was good. Kept my interest throughout. Not watched Dark but will give that a go next

Skipped S2 of True Detective, couple of episodes into S3 but I'm feeling less gripped. I guess maybe because the crime isn't as interesting in a sick way? All that occult stuff in the first season really did it for me.
