They’ve done a really good job with it, considering the book and the original film are near perfect.

Fantastic sets, colours and costumes, as always with Tim Burton.

The girl who plays Wednesday is perfect for the role, as is Catherine Zeta Jones as Morticia.

The tv series sits inbetween the original film and the American remake, in terms of quality.

It`s very good and although they`ve added a couple of different plot lines, to flesh it out, the major elements that made the original film so good, are in the tv series- the beautiful relationship between the lonely little boy and the little vampire and the devotion of the human carer ( her father in the tv series ).

The cast is excellent and the cinematography is fantastic too, making full use of the seediness of the run down areas New York, to max effect.

The original film is an 11/10

The American remake is a 7/10

The tv series is an 8/10.
