Watched the new Gervais thing on Netflix, got a few laughs but he’s pretty lazy nowadays and rehashes old jokes non stop as well as still relying on stuff from the old podcasts.

I think deep down he knows he’s not that funny anymore and is instead now trying to please his current audience which seems to have shifted a fair bit away from what it used to be towards a more American and dumber audience who think saying edgy stuff is peak comedy… the kind of people who say his last golden globes speech was the best things ever even though it was the by far the worst of his four hosting appearances.

Don’t get me wrong, edgy comedy can be amusing but the jokes have to be solid asf and his aren’t.

When you’ve listened to the podcasts and old radio shows as much as I have you realise a lot of his stand up is taken from those.

Even in the stuff he’s written over the years he’s taking stuff that Karl pilkington has said.

Gervais is pretty much the comedian they were taking the piss out of in Extras. He is just a huge loser

It's actually a bit petty why I don't like him. Going back to the early years of the office, 2 of my mates thought he was hilarious and used to quote stuff off there and it irritated the f*** out of me and grew from that.

So far, not bad.

Although, Guillermo del Torodoes does look like he can stand to lose a few pounds.
 
Parkinson is on itv for an hour now. It's a shame how frail he ended up, been a bad year for the losses we've had. I'm unsure where the next quality interviewer comes from, it'll be tiktok won't it. Yuck!
