New season of True Detective... Interesting?

I think it's been painfully slow, every time it looks to shift into gear it takes a step back. The 5th episode by far the best so far, ditched the mundane chit-chat and dug into the story a bit more.

Also, maybe I missed it, but did they cover what happened at the end of Ep 4 at all re: Navarro? Seemed like a huge moment but they just pretended it never happened in the 5th episode I think?
