TV Series

Each to their own like, but watched the first season of last kingdom and thought it was guff. For some reason, a BBC production, always carries a hint of beige. Polished acting and production but it’s all just a bit BBC if you know what I mean.
Are the later episodes an improvement like?

Started Season 2 last night. The end of season 1 was good but made no sense in how certain characters became capable of fighting numerous battle hardened Danes but it's easy enough to ignore as it keeps entertaining. And it looked like they had a lottery to decide who rides off alongside Uhtred at the end....no real connection whatsoever. Why them?

The pacing is still off as well. A montage and sad music to mourn a character who'd been in about 2 or 3 episodes and must have had less than 30 minutes of total screen time?

I really do like it though. Just seems like there are very odd choices made in how the tale is told.
Netflix improve the budget in season 4.......

If you enjoyed Spiral you will certainly like Braquo.
Similar to the Shield in that they are the dirtiest squad of cops around.
Opening scene is brilliant.
Regarding FAUDA, I was worried that the 3rd Series wouldn't live up to the other 2 but it was ace.

Fauda is amazing, just watching the 3rd season on Netflix.

I originally watched it on bbc4, but whichever foreign series they had on the Saturday night slot was always excellent... Wallander, Spiral etc.

I’m midway through the second series of Fauda and it’s just brilliant.

It took 5/6 episodes to really get going, but the constant cat and mouse is superb, plus it doesn’t take sides - they’re both evil.

Dorans is a great anti hero too.

If you can put up with sub titles and dubbing then
FAUDA
and
BRAQUO
Both on Netflix are outstanding.

Le Bureau des Légendes should be on your viewing lists...
