TV Series

Finished Adolescence last night.

That was a tough watch , can't praise Stephen Graham enough for how he put this together , the story as it unfolds is harrowing , the cast & acting are superb.

Hope it brings a much needed in depth look at what kids are subject to at the click of a button. Plus making adults aware of the danger all kids are in once they enter that world.

The look on Erin Doherty's face when the young lad ( brilliantly played by Owen Cooper ) flips will stay with me for a while.

Watched 3 episodes of it last night, my missus automatically deactivates at 9.30 every night so we'll be watching the last episode tonight. Even aside from the whopping technical achievements of the show, the performances and attention to detail are outstanding. Really great stuff

Watched episode 1 of ‘We Own This City’ last night

Cliche’s and bad accents everywhere

Did enjoy recognising some filming locations though

Thought this myself, quite the usual stereotypical “scouzers” schtick, surely they could have got more local actors/actresses with the real accent to have played most of the parts. Underwhelming and unremarkable. The plassy rs will probably love it.

Enjoyed spotting the locations as well, but can’t help feel it will just give the media more bullets to fire at us.

Just watched This City Is Ours and it’s great so far. I’m on episode 2.

Finished The City is Ours earlier.

Started off as the stereo typical Scouse drug dealing wannabes.

But actually grew into it
There's some excellent acting from a very good cast.
Great seeing all the city's landmarks & most of the cast from the area.

The end scene with Julie Graham suggests there's a follow up series .

Are these posts all referencing the same show with some posters using the wrong title?

If so, the series sounds a bit marmite.

I really like the show, liked the books and it’s much closer to source material than the Tom Cruise films.

Think so, although there was a show a couple of years ago called We Own this City which was pretty good.

Yes I thought it was excellent, seems to have had a marmite effect though, some think it remarkable some think it boring, interesting reaction though from those who like it calling those who don't thick, stupid etc and behaving like everything the show is trying to promote with online bullying etc.

Started watching 1883 on Netflix. Must admit I am enjoying it but I do like a good Western and the acting and overall presentation, to my uneducated eye, is pretty good. Usual stereotypes I guess but Billy Bob Thornton crops up briefly in one episode as a very distinct character and worth it just to see that.

….seems another Yellowstone spin-off. I suppose the trick is to watch it before 1923, but we’re watching that and without spoiling the plot, it’s taking the two main characters a series just to travel home

Haven't seen Yellowstone or the 1923 series so guess I may be in the right place?
Yellowstone went downhill at an alarming rate, but the first few seasons are very good.

Didnt bother with 1923, I was done with it after that.

The 1887 show with the blonde bird in is very, very good tho, I would suggest that.

The year might not be accurate.

This was effectively a retelling of one of the real life stories that contributed to the circumstances in the Baltimore Police Dept that was the basis for The Wire, one of the best shows ever made - this show was littered with actors from The Wire
