Taxing tyres now?I'm see the government are thinking up more ways of fleecing the motorist under the guise of saving the planet.
You were warned nearly 60yrs agoI'm see the government are thinking up more ways of fleecing the motorist under the guise of saving the planet.
Not that it affects me thankfully, but the expansion of the ULEZ in London straight after a pandemic and in the midst of a cost of living crisis is callous.I'm see the government are thinking up more ways of fleecing the motorist under the guise of saving the planet.

It’s caused self employed builders everywhere scrambling to scrape £10k together so they can buy a compliant van with 100k+ miles.
Only a matter of time before Liverpool and Chester etc. have similar restrictions.
Most of the white van owners on my estate seem to live the life of millionaires. Tax? Ha!Not that it affects me thankfully, but the expansion of the ULEZ in London straight after a pandemic and in the midst of a cost of living crisis is callous.

I live in South London, outside the North Circular Road, so not in the new ULEZ, but changed my diesel car for a petrol. I get less MPG but don't need to worry about going inside the zone when visiting my mum in North London. My brother is a self-employed plumber and tiler. He also lives in North London, also outside the zone (200 yards outside the NCR) but his work takes him all over London. He used a diesel Ford Transit Connect but recently went all the way to Darlington to buy a petrol Skoda Superb estate because he was paying too much in ULEZ charges. Not that it affects me thankfully, but the expansion of the ULEZ in London straight after a pandemic and in the midst of a cost of living crisis is callous.
