Ive been saying long time now that he belongs into that list we cannot reach. Top of pipe dream list in my personal opinion.
In a way he and Sevilla is like Raineri Leicester. ...they found the ultimate winning formula.

It will be De Boer or Koeman. Last mentioned is my preferred choice. He just ticks so many boxes. (Not even a whisper after theyve negotiated, it's clear sign, he waits our nod)

If Moshiri is as ambitious as we think then we have to be going for the very best. Personal preference aside that would be Mourinho, Simeone, Emery. We've had discussions with Jose, Simeone's going nowhere (but we should check) and we should be contacting Emery. If all of them say no then you move on down the list, if we do that and end up with De Boer/Koeman thats fine, if we don't do that and end up with De Boer/Koeman not so good. For me it's about aiming as high as you can, the failure is in not doing that.

If it is de Boer why has it not happened already. I know at Everton we don't do anything quickly but he is a free agent and we need a manager. If it is him, just get it done.

That's what makes me think although he might be on a potential shortlist he isn't the preferred option.

Must mean we are talking to others as well, same applies to pellegrini who also on a free and could sign anytime.

I don't watch much foreign football at all. What's with that horrific away record?
If you think about the Spanish league logically & your not barca & one of the Madrid clubs then you have zero chance of winning it therefore your goal should be a cup problem is the big 3 are also in the copa del rey & if you make champions league there in that too. The biggest trophy you have a chance of winning is the Europa league. That's not a defence of sevilla's away record but it would be interesting to hear from there fans what happened did they sacrifice league placings stop get to the two cup finals without watching them weekly it's difficult to know the issue

I like Pellegrini. I think he is a good fit for us at the moment. Not the man who made some dodgy purchases at City, if he was responsible for the signings but the man who went to clubs like ours and lifted them up a level.
We need a reality check, two seasons running in the bottom half has taken a toll on us, we just can't expect to change managers and, all if a sudden, be Champions League material. We need to go through a process, we need to see who we are hanging on to player wise and who we can get in.
Pellegrini has had success at doing this. He would be my choice at the moment. In the interests of fairness I would have to own up to being one of those who thought Martinez was the answer three years ago.

Wasn't he the only manager in the last 10 years who got his team to come back from behind to win the Europa League final? And now he's done it twice too

The longer it draws on the more I believe it hinges on the outcomes of domestic cup finals.

LVG, Emery, Enrique ...
