I never really cared about Chrimbo number one, but then when the RATM thing happened - a song I otherwise quite liked - I realised that we had moved into the age of people making silly songs number one out of BANTAAAAAHHHHHH and I tuned out completely.

I don't recall it being anything to do with 'Banter' but a rejection of the whole X factorisation of popular music at the time. They couldn't have chosen a better song.
