Usmanov

Red Echo cracks me up, they can't wait to pour scorn on anything Everton do.
You would think that they would be looking to provide unbiased info to generate sales / hits.

Usmanov has said before that he is not selling his Arsenal shares. Wait a few months - and - Kroenke is now the only owner of Arsenal. I think he is surely getting involved with us. Just does not make any other sense for him to sponsor our training centre otherwise. He may not buy us immediately, but I think there is a big chace, he gets somehow involved in financing our stadium. Maybe he or one of his companies funds a part of the stadium cost and then capitalizes his investment via creating new Everton shares and so he becomes our owner in this way?

I agree and that wasnt what I suggested he would do.... but it means he can chuck a few quid in to get a deal over the line if needec

I believe he already did. As many had mention, this transfer window is like playing FM in an editor mode.

I recall man city getting bought be the sheikh on the last day of transfer window and within few hours splash a world record fee for Robinho. Of cos things might not be as dramatic here but to think that nothing is happening in the background between Moshiri and usmanov is living in denial.

He's 100% sold his shares but like you im sceptical that he will end up here as we dont get nice things. Knowing our luck he will buy Newcastle and turn them into the next City!

I can't see any motivation for him investing in another team. Why put the spadework in elsewhere? Newcastle are in a right mess.

There does seem an oddness as you say to many things in manager/DOF recruitment mate. Building on what you have said the devil may care attitude to hiring and firing managers and coaches to the tune of 50 million with what seems like very little apprehension fiscally also lends its self to this. What strikes me is any snippet we have read from the Mayor and Allardyce is that they have been forthright in illustrating the Everton ownership are serious backers a bit covertly but suggestively, reading between the lines it looks like Moshiri may be the vanguard here.

I tend to agree with you, we have a profile, but its an historical one, i dont think we have the pulling power in the modern era, to make Silva down tools at Watford (that can be career suicide) or attract Brands and also the other decisions you mention, without a serious external pull or other information.

Even looking at our lending partners the Chinese bank is the biggest in the world and Stantender are no slouches. Its a long way from Barckleys and our overdraft we could never pay back. It seems in football circles it may be "well known" who is or could be involved.

The other thing i find intriguing is Mayor Joe, saying recently Everton are exploring other options about stadium financing beyond the council. Now to be frank that surprised me, considering we couldn't pull together two bob for a ground for 30 years, we are now tendering to other sources on who wants to give us money, or possibly could it be financed by an owner, which is perfectly allowed under FFP - i think.

The other thing that has my suspicions up is Watford and their reluctance to let the alleged tapping up thing go, they are looking for a pay day maybe knowing a big spender is coming along. Given that context it was amazing just how easy they let Richy go. Yet hold firm on their claim - the two things dont lend themselves to the other.

The obvious things are well documented USM etc.

As you say the timing of all this does raise suspicions, two days before the end of the window, many deals already set up and agreed and a good few targets close to being over the line. If it were to happen it makes sense to do it now and not be fleeced.

I know you say Hazard tongue in cheek, but if we do get six in and we know we have no money in the business, it does lend itself to Usminov coming in.

I never thought it could happen given it never made sense diluting a stake in Arsenal for just Everton, but i suspect a catalyst might be the investment at the docks, not just the ground but associated developments. 600million is a decent return on the Arsenal stock. With a land deal in the offing at Everton.

Yes there's a lot in that full stop. I do reiterate there may well be other explanations that make sense too, but if Usmanov was to become involved it would certainly fit with the wider pattern of evidence.

The Joe Anderson thing I think can be linked back to him never having agreed to fund the stadium prior to Elstone dropping it out of the blue at the AGM. That was not discussed previously (by all accounts) and while it proved to be a clever move I would say it was out of self preservation from Elstone to deflect from how little he had achieved in the months before that.

Anderson needs the responsibility of clearing the funding like a whole in the head in all honesty and will probably be quite pleased to lose it (though it would be a good deal for the council).

I have seen Conn (always quite critical of Usmanov/Moshiri) state no intention of moving. We will have to see what emerges. I wonder if he will want to run things in the background if he "comes on board". This is the preferred approach of many Russian owners.

You are right though, when you say too many people seem to know a bit too much about whats happening The Fact that Kia bloke showed his client to ourselves (Bernard) yesterday is telling. It's interestingly it doesn't appear to be universally accepted either and it certainly hasn't trickled down to most supporters or many mainstream media outlets as to whats happening.
