Why did Koeman leave a stable job at Southampton and risk it all. Why did Allardyce come out of retirement. Why has Brands resisted Arsenal and turned down Chelsea to join Everton, if he had to sell 15% of the wage bill before he could buy?

Simple, really. We pay massive wages.

Why would he plough millions into sponsoring the training ground, to just then buy West Ham? It doesn't make sense.

It's not technically him, it's USM Holdings, plus even if it was just him, it'd still be ok under the rules, and we know he & Mosh have a very close business relationship so who knows what little favours they do for each other amongst their many business interests.

Not that unusual all told. Also, USM sponsor all sorts for huge sums of money, including ploughing $100m into computer-game events.

Who says we have been? Bottom line is if you can get a low interest loan way less than what you would get commercially why not take up that offer. That way the money you would have spent can be put into the team.

This may or may not be the case but just because you have billions doesn't mean you want to give it away when there are suitable alternatives.

So the money for a new stadium hasn’t been an issue? From the outside it look like it has been, I mean we’re still waiting for the council loan.

It's interesting that David Conn said he had no interest and then re-tweeted an article he wrote exposing some of the links between them.

It looks as if many of the credible journalists have been increasingly cut out of the loop at Everton and in truth there is a lot of guesswork on this, and they are behind the 8 ball so to speak.

Yes there's a lot in that full stop. I do reiterate there may well be other explanations that make sense too, but if Usmanov was to become involved it would certainly fit with the wider pattern of evidence.

The Joe Anderson thing I think can be linked back to him never having agreed to fund the stadium prior to Elstone dropping it out of the blue at the AGM. That was not discussed previously (by all accounts) and while it proved to be a clever move I would say it was out of self preservation from Elstone to deflect from how little he had achieved in the months before that.

Anderson needs the responsibility of clearing the funding like a whole in the head in all honesty and will probably be quite pleased to lose it (though it would be a good deal for the council).

I have seen Conn (always quite critical of Usmanov/Moshiri) state no intention of moving. We will have to see what emerges. I wonder if he will want to run things in the background if he "comes on board". This is the preferred approach of many Russian owners.

You are right though, when you say too many people seem to know a bit too much about whats happening The Fact that Kia bloke showed his client to ourselves (Bernard) yesterday is telling. It's interestingly it doesn't appear to be universally accepted either and it certainly hasn't trickled down to most supporters or many mainstream media outlets as to whats happening.

The investing from the outside piece is interesting.

What today does is free up Mosh and Usminov, from allegations of owning two clubs.

What if USM as an umbrella decide Everton is there "Key sporting partner", USM shirt sponsor, USM Goodsion Park, USM Stadium by the Docks etc.

You can see where im going with this, the routes of getting money into the club just became an awful lot less complicated, perhaps that explains our "change in approach" to this window.

.

It's then an issue of how are we affording such wages. Also in all honesty our wages are not that high. Southampton offer Koeman 4 million a year and we offered 6. Silva could have probably got 70% of what he got at Everton at Watford had he stayed the season. I don't know too many people who basically balls their career up as they did to get those sort of increases, it hints at more to it,

As for Brands, there is not an explanation there. Arsenal and Chelsea would have paid him in line with Everton I imagine?

Of course. As an outside sponsor he can pump in whatever values he likes. How it's organised is ultimately between Moshiri and Usmanov. Moshiri is a far cleaner cut face so there would be a motivation for Usmanov to sit in the background.

But those routes have still got to be in line with normal practice. It’s against the rules to try to get money in by sponsoring above normal levels.
