Is that true ? My dad served aboard a battleship on the Arctic convoys, he’d have been made up to know that someone Everton related appreciated it.....

Real tough lads them. Be proud of him. . One of the worst places in WW2. They only recognition in 2011 with an arctic convey medal.

My Grandad was on those convoys. Took a long time for them to receive any medals or recognition for their service.

yes it was disgraceful. They had to fight to get recognised and it took to 2011 for them.to get the medal. The ships were under orders not to pick up.anyone from a sunken ship. Could only last a minute in them.waters. great and brave people the lit of them.
