Yes. And hypothetically, and it's important to state this is hypothetically, the Russian state I'm sure would be very keen on having a degree of influence on one of the UK's leading city's prized city centre and waterways if there was possibility presented to them to do so, perhaps via an intermediary who was close to both leading figures in the Russian government and the ownership of said football club.

It's just a shame for them there just doesn't seem to be one of those out there, as it would be awfully useful if there were.

Not as much as the Bank of New York Mellon or various Russian state shareholders.

A quick search shows no significant holdings but I wouldn't be surprised if he had more than what I would consider a fortune as a shareholding in it though.

I think it is very hard to deny that Usmanov certainly has some part to play in activities at Everton.

What I would dearly love to know is what promises have been made to Ancelotti to get him to Everton in the first place, in particular what transfer funds will be available.
I doubt that the offer of working with the current squad was enough to seal the deal.
