Usmanov

Don't you be confusing him with facts you swine.

Anyway, I've filed him under F for a seven letter word ending in wit.

Must be worth a few points in Scrabble that.

Usmanov was trying to buy Arsenal on the cheap. His offer to buy Kroenke's shares valued the Club at £1bn. A year later he sold out to Kroenke whose offer valued the Club at £1.8bn.

Usmanov bought Moshiri's 15% of Arsenal for £146m and then sold it to Kroenke for £270m. Does that sound like a man who is going to throw money at Everton.

You are throwing away £20m though.

Why not take the £20m shirt sponsorship and then sponsor the Club another way. Look at United they have 50 official sponsors we have 14. There is plenty of scope to increase commercial revenues without throwing away legitimate deals. The other problem with USM is that one of it's co-owners Skoch is on the US sanctions list.
~OK mate, you're right, me Mosh and Ali have got it all wrong. You going the game tomorrow?

I remember the esk writing long posts about why Kroenke will never buy out Usmanov, and why Usmanov will never in a million years invest in Everton.

I almost feel bad for the guy, literally everything he’s ever predicted has gone the other way, it does make me chuckle.
TBH He was really good years ago , spoke well on a phone in on talksport and was generally good with Everton particularly monitary wise.
Pity he lost his way , seems to have delusions of grandeur nowadays.
Pretty sad like.

Aye, he’s become a bit of a parody of himself, which is a shame as he seemed like a genuinely good bloke back in the day. He seemed to double down on being ITK, which is unfortunate for him because I’ve never seen anyone get so unlucky with predictions.

Usmanov eh. I’d quite like our boy the esk to say it’s definitely 100% never ever happening though just to be sure of his investment.

Possibly not released in time for the AGM on the 14th.
There's no requirement for the accounts to be released until March 31st should the club decide to wait till then.
If they're a tad contentious they won't be there for the AGM
If so - in essence, all the AGM will be is a teary Bill Ancelotti love in and a nod of thanks to Dunc.

He got Koeman spot on (it was obvious he was coming) but then everything else was wrong, like Mata and William Carvalho.

The worst was when he said the new stadium images would be shown at the annual stadium conference and shown Everton are attending (all prem clubs where!) this was in like 2016 or 2017.

After the conference I asked him what happened, he denied all knowledge of mentioning it and the posts had magically been deleted.

Absolute chancer after his own attention, his Everton based website is named after him haha.

Its sadly not true that he "called" Koeman.

koeman.webp

On 14 June 2016, Koeman was confirmed as manager of Everton, signing a three-year contract.

I am not saying it is a legitimate deal. What I am saying is that shirt sponsorship works, it increases brand awareness and generates sales. So why would you have the name of the holding company on our shirts and not one of the legitimate companies USM owns.
You're right in principal, and that is the logical way to look at it.

As someone else said though, the same principal would apply to the sponsorship of the training facility and branding of Goodison Park.

Now that I think of it, are the USM logos still everywhere at Goodison, or have they been replaced by Megafon - which now seem to be everywhere?
