Rumours of Pepi going to Wolfsburg in January. Whilst a decent club that would be a complete waste of a move.

If Ajax want Pepi it’s a very good sign. Not sure now is the time to go anywhere though. He’s 18 and if he stays with Dallas and stays healthy he’s basically locked in for a spot in Qatar. Wait a year and move at 19. Who knows…great word cup and maybe he’s Everton’s next #9 ha
He doesn't have 50 matches of MLS experience yet. He's locked into a starting position. The MLS format is IMO actually quite good for development for under 22 year olds (now going back to MLS at say age 26, probably not good at all) but when you are learning the game and/or learning how to be a pro its pretty damn good. He just needs playing time right now. Over in Europe sure the competetion is better and so is the coaching. However you are fighting for your position/constantly looking over your shoulder. It forces you to play when you aren't 100% and his body might not be ready for the 24/7 footie grind yet. Europe can make you a better player but it could just as easily hamper your development.

I think a big problem w/ the US squad is that we really don't have any players who have experience being the best player at their club and/or being a marked man. You can see it in the young players who play in Europe, when things aren't going great, everyone is looking around for someone else to make a play.

I used to be in the talented US young players should be in Europe camp. However, I've just seen way too many players chase Europe too early and fall by the wayside. Alitdore was every bit as good if not better than Pepi at the same age. Stay, score goals for fun, lead a club, be a captain, develop your frame so that your body is conditioned play 60+ matches/year when the time comes, peak at 27-28 instead of that age being the twilight of your career.
