Dunno Twellman.

I just know whenever I hear Lalas speak I'm ashamed to be an American that follows soccer. He makes me physically ill. Of course I generally am self-hating when it comes to American commentators/pundits. I feel like it's because they use terms from other American sports - Out of Bounds, Side Lines, etc. I understand why, but it's grating.

My hate for Lalas stems from the 2010 World Cup, every time he spoke it seemed like he had never watched a football game before. I also hate the entire Fox Sports crew - including Warren Barton, so it's not just Americans, it's just 95% of the pundits on American television.

Think NBC did great this year, and ESPN wasn't terrible other than Lalas.

Be glad. Be very glad you don't have to deal with the crews that ITV and BBC put out. Our ESPN panelists blow them away.

still in a decent position. disappointed by the draw. PROUD of the effort. could have folded, didn't. battled on.

blerts were spouting off about zero goals (scored 35 seconds in to our first) and zero points. instead we remain, in the group of death, on the precipice of advancing while world powers with world class players are out making tee time reservations.

love our gritty turbo gash players.

At some point, they stop being turbo gash and a trip to my vault makes me look more like a wizard and less like a nutjob.

Not quite yet, but getting there.

Absolutely fantastic effort from the US team. Was jumping up and down at 2-1, absolutely shattered in work now though. If only the England team had the same heart. Think I'm becoming a USMNT fan!

Quite a few American players have really impressed me.

Jones is considerably better than he was at Blackburn it seems. Was a long time ago like.
That right back, Johnson I think, a bit raw, but not bad at all.
Brooks was great when he came on on the first game.
Dempsey looks better than i've ever seen him before. In fact he looks a little possessed! But in a good way.
De Marcus Beasley must be about 54 but he's been impressive too.

Credit where credit is due. Klinnsmann has done great.

Michael Bradley needs to catch up though!

I think USA have been good value so far. I hope they go through

Michael Bradley just hasn't turned up though

I wish he was doing better as so many peeps on here were bigging him up and I wanted him to live up to the hype
Yeah Bradley's been off so far. That Ghana game was probably the worst I've seen him play for us. Had a bit of a sloppy game vs the CR7s as well

Tough on Bradley, he was very good for about 60 minutes. This is a guy who has to come back deep to get the ball and start attacks and then somehow get further up the pitch to link with Dempsey. No other midfielder in this WC has that sort of responsibility.

He was poor against Ghana, but he lost the ball 70 yards from goal against the Ronaldos. At some point the guy needs some help (I'm looking at you Bedoya).

I don't really understand all the Bradley hate either...no one thinks hes world class, other than his paycheck, I guess. I think most just thought he was our best player. At the moment, I'll say Fabian is. Bradley is going end to end for 90 minutes in that heat...he's bound to fade at the end. For people calling for his replacement, who you going to play in that box to box role? How much possession do you think we'll keep with any other mid trying to fill his role? Mix in? Thats laughable. I mean, I like the guy, but he isn't going to carry that torch.

Dempsey, who I secretly despise, has been magnificent. He's as good as he was at top form with Fulham back in the day.

Wasn't Bedoya subbed off by that point?

Bradley was poo.

The Bradley hate comes from January, when many US fans were saying that Bradley is fantastic and Everton should have bought him.

From these two games he is never Everton quality.

The sentence about Bedoya should have been in the first paragraph. This is a guy who "tracks back" but is an absolute zero going forward.

I'm not here to convince you about Bradley, but even if you believe he's terrible there are no other options. Though the bolded statement is fairly ridiculous, that's why you're hating on him? Because of what other people said about him 5 months ago?

No, I'm not hating him.

I'm giving an objective opinion on a player I was told to keep an eye on by many of my fellow Evertonians. It's the bigging him up in January that has made me pay special attention to him - which is why I'm noting how poor he's been. If you'd told me in January to keep an eye on that Bedoya lad I'd be doing the same thing about him, but no one said he was anything special.

I'm not trying to be negative here in particular. Dempsey has looked really very good, and I thought Johnson looked good going forward. Beckerman is a bit of a tit from my viewing...but I appreciate that tittishness. Jones has been brilliant (ish).

Basically the whole team seems to play very well as a unit. I feel like Bradley has been a majorly weak link. This is after I've been led to believe he's the best US player going.

This may seem like hate, because he's been so poor. If he'd had a cracker I'd probably be right there saying we should have bought him, because we are limited in midfield options. I promise it's not anti-American bias here, it's just I've been able to watch both US games...think it's the only team I've been able to see twice (and really watch, as the second halves have been post-toddler bedtime), so I have formed slightly more developed opinions on their players.

I think the problem arose when a few said he was world class mate.
