VAR

Everton are the only Premier League club not to have been awarded a spot-kick during the current campaign, while they have conceded the joint highest total – five, along with Brighton, Fulham, Tottenham and Wolves. Everton have had only one penalty in their last 73 matches.

Perhaps our players should practice diving.

I knew I had seen it somewhere

That goustos challenge was a straight red var looked at it and moved on totally ridiculous

When you think Dom got a straight red for a softer tackle where he won the ball, yet more inconsistencies depending on which club is fouling

The decision for that Gusto challenge was an absolute disgrace. If Gusto had made that challenge playing for Forest, Wolves or Everton, VAR would have stepped in and ordered the red.

Inconsistent decisions are made based on the teams involved. If that had been Fulham on Chelsea they also would have got a red and if it hadn't been given, the media would have been talking about the incident in to next week, but as it is, the MOTD panel unanimously agreed that it was right to brush it under the carpet and say that no red was fair.

The Premier League is dead as a competition.

Mars? The red planet? Wonder who they’d favour?
"What VVD is doing there is just a natural collision of two neutron stars, no malice intended therefore no need to check it. Compared DCL's outrageous attempt of severing Clyne's leg in a totally different match it's safe to say it should be three penalties to Liverpool."

Cannot believe that VAR decision on the first half took over 3 minutes to sort out! There were clearly two them offside even with Danjuma sat on his backside!
Didn’t need lines drawing, numerous replays or slow mos to sort that out!

and it should have been a foul on danjuma, had he not been pulled into his arris, he would have cleared the lines and Bailey would have been even. more obviously offside

I agreed with Jamie Redknapp, this is what VAR has brought us. Agreement with that numpty.

Joking aside, if we were to put up the 5 most ridiculous VAR moments, that would be up there. Maybe getting the right decision in the end would negate that but they had a natural line drawn for them. In the first picture, you had Danjuma sat (more or less) bolt upright on the mowed pitch line, you had the VIlla player stood a foot past this line. Bang, decision made. Add to the fact that it was also a foul and without the foul 100% chance of it being even more obviously offside. 10 seconds, decision made because of TWO clear and obvious reasons.

The fact that they started to look at the guy in front of the keeper when the shot was taken blew my mind. Unbelievable that they would even consider looking at the next phase of play and then go back and give the offside for the first one. The cynic in me would say that they were buying time while looking at the first one, trying their best to come up with a reason to give the goal but in the end decided that it was just too obvious, on this occasion.
