I wouldn't know what a Vegetarian shouldn't eat, obviously MEAT, what about dairy products !!
You can eat dairy if you want, Vegans won't

I cut meat out for health reasons and it really helps me.

I cook a lot of my own food. If you eat lots of the frozen Vegetarian items then you are eating plop. I can basicaly eat what anyone else does, I just substitute the meat for a meat free item. Loads of choice out there. Why not try having a vegetarian day once or twice a week and see how you get on with it. I won't go vegan, but I do eat vegan once a week.

I wouldn't worry about diary, I've been a vegan since the 90s so I don't but if you do too much at once it can be a shock too your system
Meat, eggs, fish, there the main ones
This is very true, don't be too hard on yourself either if it takes a while and you are still eating meat once a week or month as you continue to learn and start enjoying different food

I haven’t eaten meat in 35 years, can honestly say I’ve never missed it. My missus is a ‘proper’ veggie in that she eats mainly vegetables and tofu whereas I have lots of veggie sausages/burgers etc.

The only problem I ever had was dining out with friends. Used to be very tricky getting veggie food in Australia unless we went to an Indian/Thai place, however these days most places have an extensive plant based menu.

Give it a go and see how you feel!

Scrambled tofu with tumeric has been a great go to brekky for me

Always feel a bit suspicious of the plethora of cheap fake meats. 'Plant Based' could probably cover a whole host of nasty chemicals and additives. I'd sooner just use an alternative rather than an imitation. The way Indian food can substitute meat for potato or cauliflower rather than an 'imitation' meat.

Chunks of sweet potato in a curry rather than meat is really nice.
