i just tweeted paddy power to find out the odds of this:

euro_2016_please_dont_fight.jpg

being used as a projectile, ram or weapon in the next round of booze fueled violent display of national pride.

Unnacceptable
No, I said the fans out there now are paying the price for a generation of England fans who have behaved disgracefully al over Europe for years. The mindless yobs out there now who are out there now and who set out with the sole intention of emulating past behaviours do deserve everything they get... and it's laughable that they are moaning about it now. Unfortunately, the innocent people from any country involved caught up in all of this are the real victims.
Wind it in your talking sh1te all through this thread ...

Defence for what mate ??? there is no defence for what the mindless knobs have been doing out there.... the same as there is no defending what England ( again minority ) fans have been doing for the last 30 odd years all over Europe.
Myself, I'd just like people to stop fighting, full stop.

England and Wales fans having a kick around in a square in Lens yesterday.

Wasn't on the news though of course.

Being neither English or Welsh I have no vested interest in the behaviour of their fans in France but I think you may be getting a bit paranoid. I am sure the vast majority of right thinking people realise that any hooligan element in either camp is a small minority.
I'm sure thousands of English supporters are enjoying being in France and causing absolutely no bother to anyone. That is not news, that is the norm.
Any blame attaches to those hooligans, whatever nationality,
causing trouble. The press, scrum that they are, cannot be blamed here.

I think you may be taking things I post a bit too seriously.

I wish you were right... but I've just had someone at work giving me the "all football fans are morons so they deserve getting their heads kicked in" nonsense.

I'm sure he was just trying to wind me up but most people just absorb whatever the media presents to them..... as you have said you don't see the 10,000 or more England fans over there making new friends, chilling out and enjoying the tournament, you just see a video clip of few pissed up fat lads singing war songs and throwing bottles in the aftermath of something bigger happening (which mysteriously wasn't filmed). Most people then don't make the same assessment of it as you have.

I've also seen some of my posher mates on facebook airing some pretty tedious views about it..... they just aren't aware that the French, Italians, Dutch etc all have far bigger hooligan problems than we've got.... people think its still 1985.... which in some ways wouldn't be a bad thing :)

I think England and Welsh fans should just get out of Lille today and leave the Russians to rearrange their bum-bags. Maybe they will just go out for a nice meal and chill?
