Violence at the games

I was suggesting this in some of my posts a few days ago but none of you picked up on it.

Ask yourself this: how come none of the Russian ultras took the opportunity to attack English fans in Ukraine during Euro 2012? Not one incident took place, despite us playing twice in Donetsk which is so close to the Russian border it was practically a ho e game for them. Border checks on trains etc were minimal for Ukrainians/Russians until the Crkmea and Donbas invasions, so they had ample opportunity.

Fast forward 4 years and you have the global agenda by Putin rolling ever forward - all predicated on Russia's 'strength' and intending to strike fear into all others.

And now we see them trying to fight English fans at every opportunity - when we've been at the forefront of assisting Ukrainian forces and their government (amongst other strands the Russians will cry foul over).

This is all part of Putin's long-term strategy. Don't be surprised if more is revealed.

Some fella was on the phillips' phone-in earlier saying very much the same thing - weren't you, was it?

No Sympathy for any of the English fans getting hoofed by boris.... it's payback for decades of travelling around Europe thinking they ruled the place and destroying towns, businesses and families. And whilst I don't condone the violence at all... sorry England,, you've had it coming.

Listen mister, if it wern't for Eddy I building all them castles, your country'd just be some poxy little principality without even as much as a tourist industry. You should be grateful we allow you your own football association. :)

Have been chatting with Mr Kiev about this. This is his take on it.

That`s good that you are in Bristol.

Yes, they are maniacs and professionaly organized for Euro 2016...

Ready for battle: Russian ultras are not only the most vicious species of hooligan around, but also the best organised — partly because many have daytime jobs that involve wearing uniforms

Need to admit that this photo and comment has little to do with those who participated im Marseille events, as:
1) These are Kuban fans and not the best in Russia in fighting.
2) They are not wearing uniforms, they are simply professional hooligans under control of FSB. FSB sometimes needs virtually not to participate in some events and they use these guys. On opposite FSB provides money support :).

I assume that Moscow groups were involved for major extent - Spartak, CSKA, Dinamo and Lokomotiv firms, plus maybe Zenit.

Recent events are caused by the fact that 4 years ago in Euro 2012, Russians were beaten in Warsaw by polish hooligans and russians couldn`t afford it second time. It`s hard to understand for people from Europe, but every dictatorship needs to give his people news of constant victories in order to keep in power. So that is why events look too strange:
1. On one hand russian firms were united and well organized, due to general management from FSB side. And that`s the reason for strange reaction of russian officials on these events - they know, who`s in charge and they need to proclaim victory.
2. Major part of these guys were delivered by charter flight, booked by Russian Fan Organization (SPV created for distribution of FSB financing, mentioned above). I believe that it needs quite a lot of money to deliver 220 people via charter flight.
3. News like this on biggest russian football cites - http://www.championat.com/football/...esporjadki-v-istorii-rossijskogo-futbola.html
Precise translation - the coolest (they are not using word "biggest" at least, they are using "coolest", this is the way "propaganda" works) outrages in history of russian fans

And this overview starts from phrase "how 300 russians have beaten 10 thousands englishmen" (I assume that you can see that there`s reference to 300 spartans, once again "propaganda")

[Poor language removed] bastards don`t even care that someone died due to this.

This led to events, which took place in Marseille and all the consequences. Don`t blame your fans, there were pretty a lot of Englishmen in Ukraine on Euro 2012 and apart of some small drunken fights there was nothing. Moreover England played two games in Donetsk, which was even in that times notorious for being criminal city within Ukraine and once again there were no hostile events.
