Good CB partnerships can be just as important as a 25 goal a season forward. That's why I'm shocked we haven't gone all out for a Van Dijk or Koulibaly as one of those along with Keane and hopefully a Giroud/Benteke to claw 15 goals or so that we'll lose from Rom will see us up there with a reliable keeper also been brought in.

I like the boy Keane, but to suggest hes 1 of the best CB in the world is pushing it a little, same with VVD, im not as against the boy as you and no doubt hes a quality player, but 1 of the best in the world? Not for me.
So Zat is saying that Keane and Williams is ALMOST the best CB pairing in World Football.

I'm a big fan of Mike Keane, have been for a few years but he's not even top 10 in the Prem never mind Europe or even THE WORLD.
He's better than Van Dirge though.

Fair enough on Spurs but i'd argue Juve are as much 3 at the back as possible...even adding Benatia on loan last season when they didn't really need him.
Godin is just class, Savic provides the balance I guess but for me Gimenez was awesome a year ago...shame simeone dropped him due to his 'recklessness'...
Spurs 3 at the back? They even ensure Dier is a pivot when hes in midfield dropping back to form a 3.

On paper, Keane and VVD would be up there with the best pairings in Europe.
Individuality means nothing...put them together and they tick all the boxes for a pairing.
Having a 'pivot' still doesn't make it a 3 at the back. They play 4. That's very easy to see, if you actually sit down and watch a bit of football.
