This guy. He's 22. Kyiv was his only club before he came to us. He joins a back four devoid of confidence and a team who are in a relegation battle. Now his whole life is in turmoil because of the war. Are we asking too much of him ? He could yet be good for us, but at the moment his crossing is below average, and I always feel that he has a defensive mistake in him. We desperately need him to shine over the next few weeks, because it's a problem position for us, and the alternatives are Kenny (who's clearly better playing on the right), and Godfrey - and if Godfrey plays LB then it's back to the dreaded Keane - Holgate partnership.
I feel like he's holding back a bit when he plays like he's a bit scared to bomb forward cause he's new

Needs to relax and go for it

Easier said than done when you're homeland is in turmoil

Threw this guy into the deep end with no idea if he could swim. Consistently awful transfer dealings will relegate us sooner or later.
I thought he did ok early on, despite the criticism that came his way from those who just wanted to criticises him because he was a Benitez signing. But he's been alarmingly poor since.

It's early days for him, however he needs to show he has more than what we've seen so far. It's ok if he cant do the quality of crosses we expect from our LBs at the moment as long as he can be solid and offer us defensive strengths. But he's not aggressive enough now either. He's lost that even in the short time he's been here.

I have my doubts.

There's perhaps a reason why Godfrey and Jonjoe Kenny have been given the nod ahead of him.

Such early days, but for me - some basics - like heading a football - seem a bit off. His tendency to pass behind him, avoid taking anyone on... he seems to lack pace - I find it hard to see him skimming past a player and whipping a ball in for a goal.

I'm conflicted - part of me thinks play him for balance. Another part of me thinks we need results and I've no clue whether he's good enough at the moment. Also factor in his mind will be on more important matters, it's perhaps one to say see you next season.

The situation at home can`t be helping him either.

Imagine, leaving home for the first time, as a young lad, to go and live in another country, where you know no one, other than a mate, who plays for another club thirty miles away, you don`t speak the language and then a few weeks after arriving, Hitler MK2 invades your country and starts bombing the crap out of everyone and everything ?

I know it would affect me.

I think we need to play him. We can’t keep playing a RB in the position. He’s the only available LB in the squad we need balance. Can’t believe we sold Digne in the position we are in to replace him with LB we don’t play and a RB we don’t play. I didn’t mind the deal at the time thought if it gets us a starting RB or at least someone competing with a finished Coleman for starts. A LB that is maybe not as good at the moment but is good enough to replace him and perform at the level then great. It’s just looking worse and worse as time goes by tho.

I’ve definitely noticed a reluctance of other players to pass to him at times. There has been times he’s free and they’ve ignored and just passed it back across the right instead.

Well they see him in training every day so I am sure they know what he’s about

Good first half, solid defending and a couple of decent attacking passes, one Richarlison could of scored from.

Plays like the Ukrainian Ian Wilson.

Can’t believe we traded Digne for him, that now looks awful business.

He just looks steady.
