Name a couple of games when hes been poor?

He hasnt...he hasnt been good or bad...hes been fine.

If all our defenders had been fine then we wouldnt be giving goals away.

Half a yard behind Godfrey when we had the ball...not seeing an issue with that.

If they had the ball and he was behind the (non existant) defensive line then id agree with you.

Keane came forward, should have passed left to Richarlison which wouldnt have even been a discussion on here now...and we would hopefully have taken at least a point.

That is a shocking take.

This is a lie.

Every game he has been average at best. Mostly shocking. It's like swapping a Porsche for a clapped out lada

Did fine today.

Funny people blaming him for being half a yard behind Godfrey when Kenny was miles up the pitch, Keane was ahead of the line and Iwobi didnt control it.
It's ridiculous for anyone to blame him for the goal. You can't legislate for what Iwobi did, not a single player on the pitch would have expected him to not control that pass.

Not PL quality. Bad business. All made more worrying by the fact he was on our scouts wanted list for years. I suppose if you run a club like a charity and hand scouting roles to useless underperforming amateurs the recruitment suffers. No worries though no consequences for the lovely team of scouts, all part of our blue family, go on lads stick in a bid for Ake for 60mil in the summer.

Hull - gave away the free kick for the first goal and in general spent the majority of the 120 minutes getting rinsed by a championship winger.

Wolves - Didn't get in the same post code as Neves to stop the cross for their goal.

They're the ones that stick out, cba looking back.

But he can't defend 1v1 so to combat that he gives the attacker all the space in the world because he's terrified of him going past him. Which means the attacker has all the time in the world to do what he wants (see the Wolves goal). And he is slow, way too slow.

Then you get to his attacking input which is completely non existent. His starting position is so deep and when he does get in a position to deliver its the same endless cross into an area. No belief or quality.

I've probably been spoilt by the fact that we've had one of the best left backs in the league for the best part of 15 years now, but he is gash.

Average is fine? Lol on what planet is that acceptable
A bit of a rant of sorts:

1: Ancelotti was interested, Brands scouted him and Benitez signed him.

2: He's been the left back regular for both Ukraine and Kiev for the past 4 seasons.

3: He has 21 caps and played 32 games in Europe by the age of 22.

4: He was rated in the top layer of highest potential u21 players for 3 years between the ages of 18-21.

5: He's been in/out of the team since joining and played in an unsettled team devoid of confidence. So far he's had Gray/Gordon/Richarlison ahead of him and Godfrey, Keane/Holgate next to him.

6: He did not cost £20mil / £21mil or whatever other fictitious fee mentioned. The fee was 'undisclosed' and strongly rumoured to be £17mil or £18mil including clauses. In the same way Pattersons fee was £16mil including clauses with the initial fee at £11mil...we can guess the initial fee for Mykolenko would likely be between £12-14mil.

7: He hasnt been dreadful or anything as bad as hes being made out to be. He's been average, probably 5 or 6 out of 10 every match.

8: He was signed a month into his 2 month winter break, moved to a new country and league and then seen Benitez, Ferguson and Lampard as managers. Not to mention his illness and the war in Ukraine.

I think he's a good player and opinions will change on him next season.

See above.

Joined the club while on a 2 month mid season break.

Thrown in against Hull...

Wolves he let a cross in...every full back in world football can occasionally do that.

Hardly warrants the negativity.

He does it all the time, just watch him defend. He's terrified.

Add to that he takes no risks on the ball, everything is backwards. He's a poor, poor player.

Because average doesn't put you in the relegation quagmire does it? Look at West Ham, average would just about sum their performance up, and they have an outside shot of the Champions League and winning the Europa League.

There a several rungs in the ladder between 'average' and whatever the hell we are.

Then he’s not average

He’s miles below it

Whenever I watch the team when he's playing it seems like nobody wants to pass to him yet. Despite that I think he did fine today. Iwobi and Keane as usual are the gruesome twosome of our already dreadfully average squad
