Oh absolutely. Just saying we're pretty blunt as a fan base. If he's not good application and work ethic doesn't really fix being not good enough.

As a fan base we're always more likely to give someone a chance on the whole if it's clear they are working hard and fighting for the badge

Straq is the ultimate example

Not much of a player but he played with the same passion we'd all have if we were lucky enough to wear the shirt, so he was given plenty of leeway

If Mykolenko works hard and it's clear he's giving it his all then he'll win quite a few over early doors

Can you imagine hating a manager that much you'd want to hound a new player on his debut?

Even though Patterson is, IMO, a massive mistake by Benitez I'll still be hoping he's a success here.

There's something deeply wrong when a *supporter* hates a replacement for a player who refused to wear an Everton shirt and get out on the pitch and then demanded a move.

Let's call that what it is: cultish behaviour.

Strange, just a single match and some fans (toxic ones) have stooped so low that they already want him to fail and have already declared him a flop/slow etc so that they just get a chance to slate the manager. These guys are better avoided.

My brother was at the match as said he heard no criticism of the lad, just of the team in general. I would just point out how unlikely it is that this lad or his agent stipulated that in order for him to join, Digne must be sidelined and sold? If people have a grudge about that, please direct it towards those responsible (hint: this lad isnt!)

I thought he did alright for his first game for a month, first week of meeting his new team doesn't speak the language. I have seen a lot worse and anyone writing a player off after one game should give their heads a wobble.

He looked like a player who was playing his first game for his new club.

Exactly this, too early to judge him yet, especially as Kiev were on their winter break prior to him signing.

I did however think he would have been bigger, everything I've read about him seemed to suggest that he was a strong powerful player, he looked like he could do with a couple of bowls of scouse .
