I would have liked to have seen what Digne could have become, with the best ever LB and Ashley Cole working with him.
Whether he could be bothered to learn or not, is another matter.
But still. At this point I think we have a very good player, who will get better. Especially when he has better players around him.

I’m convinced Patterson is going to be really good too, and much as I loved Digne, this looks decent business now. Was a real risk selling him and bringing two lads in who had to take a jump in quality (let alone the tragedy of Ukraine), but Myko has found his feet now and been really good of late. That goal today was so sweet.

Great news if it’s just cramp. You could see the absolute drop off in quality when Mykolenko went off. They’d not had a sniff down that side and once Kenny came on it was cross after cross and we almost conceded the equaliser. Absolutely vital he stays fit for the season.

I know Benitez treated Digne badly but I don’t think Lucas was blameless either
Myko seems to have a better attitude and still has the chance to grow and evolve further
