Go easy on the lad. I can still remember, just about, Howie making his debut nearly 55 years ago. We lost 1-0 at home v Southampton and H blasted a shot over the bar at the Street End when it looked easier to score (yep, people groaned & made instant judgements!), things got a lot better!

No I don’t want him to be bad - I’m just saying his apparent lack of athleticism is a worry at this level.

yes, you can tell decent athletes pretty much straight off

Digne, Godfrey, Coleman (when he was younger obvs)

This lad is not in their class athletically.

Digne isn’t quick either, let’s see what’s he’s like after 10 games and he’s at least match fit

Not going to judge him on one performance in a completely new country. Could have done better, could have done worse.

Done well seeing as it’s his first game and hasn’t played or trained properly for a while. Will only get better with more games, happy with him.

Struggled in first 15 but got better as game progressed. Bit rusty when they ran at him but he looks like a decent player. He'll get much better.

Yes was good going forward, though wasn’t quick and weirdly I always thought Digne looked poor as a wing back, he lacked dynamism to play that role imo

Maybe but that’s probably more of a technical limitation on his part

Looks ok, very lightweight, needs to fill out a bit more, will struggle with the physical aspects of the premier league for me.

…..I appreciate it’s his first game but I have to say I was a bit concerned with that display. I’m not keen on his movement, his gait and how he settles in a one on one against a forward.

i need convincing, he’s not what I thought.

Time will tell on him.

Will say one thing though, there is always the chance that the manager that is losing most games whilst at Everton may not be the best person to sign players for the club.

Hope he is a great player for us but if the outdated and terrible manager is signing his players, always the risk that it's not worth the money.
