yeah I agree.

Personally I think Benitez was a large factor in Digne turning rancid, because of the different role/tactics.

Came to the right decision for the wrong reasons, which I think you said prior to, and I totally agree... a happy outcome for an ugly conclusion to Digne's time here.
Digne had his faults, mainly on the defensive side of his game, which is where Myko excels. But his attacking prowess more than made up for his defensive frailties and he was arguably our most creative player. But those skills were underused in the defensive system employed by Benitez which is probably why the 2 fell out.

Defensively we're a completely different side this season, but we're still lacking creativity of he sort that Digne brought us. But that can be sorted over the next couple of windows and hopefully Myko himself can develop that side of his game. He has a decent left peg on him.

Myko has done ok. Not brilliant where other clubs would be tapping him but enough defensively to hold down his place. That being said this should be no reason for the club not to be looking to improve as with any player. Those that remember a very reliable local player John Baily being replaced with Pat Van den Hauwe. Just one example

Maybe so, but it was still great business on the Spaniards watch.

….the purchase of Gray has to be seen as excellent business but let’s not forget Rondon has contributed zero, other than being Benitez’ mole in the dressing room.

Its a moot point regarding whether we are stronger without Digne (I like Mykolenko but I think he’s nowhere near as good), but the biggest issue of that transfer was it was symptomatic of the conflict that Manager pursued throughout the club.

Regardless, let’s hope the lad has a stormer today & helps keep United out.

Not to write off a young player nor to blast a veteran when he is on his last legs, but it felt like we had hibbert and Neville in the full back slots tonight. Makes it hard to get up the pitch when two of your main outlets have to turn back almost every time with the ball.

I won’t say I have watched him closely in every game he has played, but Ive not really seen much to suggest there’s an attacking game there in him waiting to come out? He looks like he doesn’t want the ball

Pretty much a steady eddie type now he's been a regular for six months. His crosses do always loop towards back post which is annoying.

Would like to see Vinagre get some games actually, he played a fair bit for Wolves when they were comfortable top half so would have something about him although he was probably signed with 3atb still the first choice formation.

He's markedly below average at this level as an attacking full back, and about average as a defensively-minded one. We need to find the new Baines from somewhere.

Him and Coleman are a terrible full back pairing in the modern game. Neither of them has the ability to go forward so it really pins us back as a team.

Defensively he's fine, but he doesn't give the opposition anything to worry about going the other way. He's barely an option when we have the ball.

Got mullard today, Utd targeted him and over loaded his side for a period in the first half particularly from their first goal onward he was dealing with Shaw, Fernandez and Anthony. Until we copped what was happening.

He was very poor.

I like him, he has a good mindset. But sometimes he looks barely a PL player.

One of our worst performers today alongside Gueye.
