Well I’ve just checked that website out after seeing a few quote it. And they have us top of the defensive stats out of all leagues. We’re currently 14th in our league so just for comparison stats ratings mean nothing, his current form has been good last 6 weeks or so before that he’s been turbo Garbo as you say and if you watch him he looks so cumbersome and awkward in possession only a matter of time before he returns back to being tripe.

I think you have misinterpreted. They have us top of tackles per game. Which when you click statistics, and then defensive, Tackles pg is the default ranking of the options.

Whoscored is considered the go to statistical tool. It gets its stats from opta and player ratings are based off their actions in game rather than any objectivity. There’s a page which explains it all but it takes any biases out of judgement around player performances.

Decent that, especially when he couldn’t get into the team ahead of a very poor young at the start of the season.

I would suspect it's skewed by his goals. He has been solid but it's definitely an area we need to improve as his lack of ability on the ball will always hold us back as an attacking unit. Apart from the odd goal he offers less going forward than Tony Hibbert.

Think his crossing has slightly improved but is still very poor in that regard and so would prefer him in the box attacking the ball, worked well last two games, don't fix what ain't broke

When he can take a great free kick and cross a ball then mention him in the same breath as Baines

He is not Baines as there is no Pienaar. He is an excellent defender who is starting to score a few as well. I like him a lot.

He's no Leighton Baines, but, very few are. He's come on leaps and bounds this season and may well be our first choice left back for several seasons here's hoping.

I had him at 66/1 when he scored his 1st goal for us last season. Pretty pleased with that. Not so much for all the times later that I lost money on him, so I stopped having him. I don't want to jinx him again, so I'll keep my money in my pocket
