I know we're a nice family club and all that but it's not good playing some lad out of pity for his country being demolished by Russia, despite him clearly being several leagues out of his depth. How we went from Baines to this fella despite being taken over by a billionaire is beyond me. Utterly shambolic.

Sadly as somebody said once on here Everton are just a charity with a club attached. How many players were kept when they should of been moved on. Jags, Barry, Howard, Coleman, Gomes and Baines. It sadly all goes back to summer of 2017, that's were it all went wrong, had we spent money wisely like Klopp who knows where we would be now. Instead we wasted money on players we didn't need and ended up with Cuco Martina at left back and Kenny at right back. Mykolenko was a typical example of our stupidity, surely you could find a better left back than him. He's not even Championship level now.
Even Gbamin should have been cut loose when the exetent of his injuries were found. We paid him millions upon millions and built him back up, sent him on loans, and ended up terminating his contract anyways, just so his agent could crap on the club on his way out.
Same with treating Maupay like a first teamer. Rezzies until gone. He had no respect for the club and we should have showed him none.
Sooner we're ran like a top flight club the better.

Im not so sure its out of charity as it is neccessity. They have such a hard time convincing someone to come play for us that once they get one person in the building they cant let them leave. Its too hard to get a replacement.

To be quite honest, while some of this is decency (and is to be applauded), I really do want to see us being hard-nosed from here on in - in terms of how we run the club financially. That means, when the time comes, upping ticket prices to what the market can truly bear when a team worthy of those prices can be developed. Subsidising this that and the other is all well and good - but it can't come at the cost of the club's chances of on-field success. I don't think the Friedkins need to behave like Radcliffe over at United, but I think we're going to have to mirror some of the activities of the other shower of Americans across the park...when the time is right. If we want to compete, we have to pay competitive prices.

I honestly thought, despite his offensive limitations, that Mykolenko last season from a defensive point of view was brilliant. I really did think defensively he was very, very good.
This season, however, he looks like the worst footballer I have ever seen. Makes Cuco Martina look like Marcelo.

Even when we had money we wasted it on no marks, to spend amount of money we did and have Kenny, Holgate, Williams, Holgate in defence and Davies, Niasse, Davies against a RS side who we spent more than that summer was unforgivable. We didn't have money under Moyes or Martinez yet had decent back up in most positions. Look how much we spent on Sigurdsson.

People talking about full back is an evolved position, but you look at left back in this league and its full of stand in's or average footballers.
There arent any stand out Leighton Baines or Ashley Cole's anywere
Look at City & Arsenal, neither actually have a left back, they just throw Gvardiol or Timber or Califiori in there.
Roberstson has been good over the past 10 years but he's getting on
Udogie is meh
Digne is good, but we all saw he also has negative aspects of his game
